hmmm, Lewis sure has talent, unmatchable to mine if you ask me, still, I DID write something, once I guess on PO lol. That was a lil story about a friend that was dying and all ... pretty sad, or stupid, or crazy, or all of that, anyway my vote goes to ... I'll have to go check the fanart section first hehe

hmmm... that's a tough one. There are so many good writers on here. Everyone has their own creative ideas that they displayed in the True introduction thread.
I think as far as creativeness towards writing...
I have to nominate Shurikane.
He comes up with some really great stuff. Entertaining, serious, and that disapline thread... man.

I'm torn, as I want to make sure that both Therin and Sakura-chan make it on this, so I'm going to nominate one, and then make someone else nominate the other so I can second them.
Nomination: Sakura
Now get someone to nominate Therin! |

hmm...seems to me that i couldn't pick a single "Best Writer," though keep in mind that i haven't read as much of the material on the site as others have. still, for what my 2¢ are worth, there are many of us who are especially fun to read for certain reasons:
Sakura - best at making everything she posts In Character, including descriptions of actions, etc. obviously other people write their actions to match their character, but Sakura's always sound as though her PO is telling you what's happening as well as speaking the dialogue; not everybody does that. it's more of style decision than anything else though.
BryanFJ - best at sounding like a novelist. ie, very serious tone, verbose and descriptive narration, always uses full sentences, likes to keep the whole plot in mind during every post. again, this is a style. it works great for a serious RP with deep characters and plot, like Journeys of a Samurai.
Sperrit - most proficient. have you people seen how many posts-per-day he has!? it's super-human! every one of his posts is consistently well-written and imaginative, and he can easily vary between serious and whimsical.
Aindriahhn - by far the silliest writer i've seen here. seems like all of his posts use the absolute minimum number of words to get the joke across, which usually has to do with alcohol or the effects thereof - which we all know is guaranteed to be funny! when other people pick up on this style, as in the Search for a Better Beer thread, it really streamlines everything; even if it does remove any serious plot exposition or character growth that might have occurred.
Lews Therin - i'm not really sure what the right word is, but he definitely deserves to be nominated. maybe Most Imaginative? he's got well written posts even when swapping between two or three characters who are all functioning totally separately in a single storyline; and he keeps pulling new characters out of nowhere and integrating them seamlessly into whatever secret plotlines are revolving around the older ones already.
so, those are my thoughts. again, i haven't read a lot of many members' work, so this is based mostly on those i have. i'm reluctant to pick anyone as 'The Best' because everyone is fun to read, and it seems like the sort of thing is too subjective most of us to agree on anyway. but if you cared to know what i think - now you do!

I'd have to agree with Ted on this one. You guys are al great writers and all for different reasons. There is no one Best Writer because we all do different things best as far as writing. I think we all get this award in our own way. Thank you Ted for such a great atticulation of that. Couldn't have done it better myself.

Lol...there are just way too many good writers to decide...but I guess I can narrow it down to three. As everyone else has said, Bryan is the best at novelizing his work. Everything he's written on Journey of a Samurai has been top notch. Shuri also gets a vote if simply for his RPG cliche story. Man, that is absolutely the funniest piece of writing I've ever read. However, I guess if I had to pick one person as the best writer here, I'd pick Sperrit. After all, the first time I read his intro to the fight with Baltonar my jaw literally hit the floor. That's one of the best pieces of writing I've read to date. Anyway, I guess those are my votes. We have such good writers here, I hope more people decide to post stories up on the fanworks board, PO-related or not. With such good writers, I can't wait to see how cool the PO RPG turns out. I'd also love to see a Pocket Otaku manga someday, that would ROCK! |
