I came from a multi racial country so we tend to celebrate all festive seasons visiting families and friends in their homes during these festival.. i.e. Eid, X’mas, Diwali, Gong Xi Fa Chai etc.. We hold ‘Open House’, where other races attend and offer greetings and plenty of traditional delicacies are served.. packets of money are given to kids and those who are not married yet.
I, personally celebrate the Eid and still have 4 more days of fasting in Ramadhan, during Eid apart from visiting each other we also seek and grant forgiveness from everyone.. “I would like to take this opportunity to ask for forgiveness to all of you if I have ever hurt anyone’s feeling with or w/out realizing or intention.”
I will be on vacation from Nov 11 till Nov 21 to go back to hometown and visit relatives in other part of Malaysia.

Have a safe trip home. While I may not celebrate Ramadan and the fast, the idea of askinf for forgiveness is a good one. So, I, too, speak those words. If I have hurt feelings, intentionally or no, I seek forgiveness from those I have offended, whether here or elsewhere. |

During the month of Ramadhan, Muslims fast from dawn to sunset every day.. They are not allowed to eat or drink during the daylight hours. Smoking and sexual relations are also forbidden during fasting. It is a time for inner reflection, devotion to God and self-control.
Eid, the festival of fastbreaking, It celebrates the achievement of every Muslim who has successfully completed a month of fasting.
