Hello everyone out there in Miniopia!

Do you you have the holiday blues? Are you bummed if you live abroad and are not able to make it to the PO Holiday Party? Do you want to make another PO happy that might be suffering from the same symptoms?

Well now is your chance!

We are kicking off the
FIRST (Hopefully Annual) Pocket Otaku ONLINE Secret Santa Gift Exchange!

Want to know how it works? Well I'll tell ya!

What is Secret Santa?

Secret Santa is a gift exchange where only you know who is receiving your gift. You will not know who your gift is from until you open it.

How does it work?

We take all participants and assign them to someone else. You are this person's Secret Santa - you are responsible for purchasing/making a gift and sending it to them. Your Secret Santa will be purchasing/making a gift to send to you. You will not know who has purchased/made your gift until you open it.

How much do I spend?

We are suggesting a limit somewhere between $10 and $15.

How do I sign up?

Do not sign up unless you're certain that you'll be able to send a gift.

If you are under 18 please get your parent's permission.

Send me (Doot) a private message telling them that you are interested - please include your name, mailing address and a quick breakdown of things you like. I will get back to you with the name and mailing address of the person you will be purchasing/making a gift for. You will then need to send your gift prior to the deadline below. Don't forget to gift wrap it!

Once you've sent your package please PM me (Doot) that it's on the way (be sure you mention who you were assigned to). Once you have received your package please post in this thread that you've received it. This way the person receiving it will know that it's on the way and the person who sent it will know that it's arrived.

Do I put my return address on the package?

I highly recommend that you put a return address on the package in case there are problems with the mail. Be sure to include your member name inside the package so that they'll know who it's from.

What if there's someone I don't want to have my address?

If there is a specific person you do not want to be your Secret Santa (in other words, you don't want them to have your address) please let us know and we'll work around it.

What if I don't want to be matched up with someone overseas?

Shipping costs overseas (or across borders for that matter) can be rather high. If you do not want to be paired up with someone outside of your country let us know and we'll do our best to arrange it.

When should I open my gift?

We would like for everyone to open their gift on the same day - December 25th. If that's not possible you may open it sooner or later. Please do not post about it until after everyone has had a chance to open their gift though.

What do I do if I sign up and can't send a gift?

Let us know!

What do I do if I don't receive a gift?

Allow plenty of time for it to arrive. If you haven't received it prior to Christmas PM me (Doot) and I'll check into it.

This should be a lot of fun folks! I know that some people will be partaking of the SNeaky Santa at the Holiday Party but this does not mean you have to do just one. If you want to sign up for the Online Secret Santa and do the Sneaky Santa that is up to you.

Just a friendly little bump on this as I have received a small amount of responses so far. If you guys don't think it's a good idea then we can scrap it but I think it'd be fun. So let me know!

Well suffice to say, I didn't really get too much of a response on this. Thanks to those folks who did. Unfortunately it wasn't big enough of a pull to make it actually work. Maybe we'll try again next year.

Admittedly Dootsama, I would have been interested, but only now am I finding out about it.

Perhaps if you had posted it in a more watched forum, like "Whatever" more responses would have come in.

But if you wanted to give it another week, I bet we could get the people
