The "Back In My Day" thread - This one's for Katana

Back in my day we didn't have all these fancy-shmancy "threads" and "web-boards"!

The only threads we had were the ones we used to stitch together old flour sacks to make clothes so we could hope to survive the winter. And the only thing we could call a web-board back then was a 2" x 4" we used to kill the BIG spiders before they could eat our dogs, and we had to steal that from the lumberyard! Don't tell me about tough!

Back in my day we didn't hav saran wrap, we just had to sit our littlest kin on top of the bowl to keep the air from gettin' in then place them in our ice box. Lost many a cousin to the ice box.

Back in my day, People didn't start these at PO parties. No sir'eee. You had to go down to the country store and start 'em round the checkerboard. And you had to walk there with no shoes. Spoiled youngins.

Back in my day we didn't have no checkerboard. Hell, we didn't even have red! The whole world was black and white until the late 30's. Nowadays when somebody says blue you gotta ask what shade they're talkin about! Shade! Peh!
Back in my day the only shade we had was where the thing between you and the sun hadn't quite died yet. And "shade" meant it was only a 110 degrees IF you could make it there! Ya had to run reeal fast sos ya didn't burst inta flames. Why, once I saw two of the neighbors kids melt before my very eyes! Don't talk to me about tough! Kids these days are sittin in the lap of luxury and don't even appreciate it!

You ALL had it way easier than me cause back in my day I useta walk ta school, SCHOOL not this namby pamby place you go....We're talking nuns, rulers, and pedoliphic preachers and we didn't have no lawyers guarding our butts. But when we walked ta school we needed to rub our feet in garlic to keep the vampire worms out of our shoes which wasn't much of a problem till after school because before school it was 20 below with three feet of snow and the wolves were hungry so I tied an onion to my belt, which was the style at the time. But we didn't have stores with onions NO we hadta grow em everytime we went to school to fend off the wolves. Anywho, after school it was 130 degrees since no one invented the ozone layer yet and that's when the wolves would try ta eat ya but normallly there'd be no garlic on yer feet because we useta work the fields barefoot to harvest our lunch. But the worms stayed out of the fields since all the garlic on our feet but after school they'd take our shoes and sell em to homeless Canadians which made no sense cause Canadia was a province of England and not a country so we were selling em to the English but the snow made em Canadian. Anyway the vampire worms were vicious and I've lost many of my friends, which is what we called dog flavored monkeys. Anyway, my days were much harder since we didn't have PS2's only Nintendos...hehehe
