Your coolest moment - "Damn, I'm good."

We all do it - you walk away from a situation once in a while thinking "I wish I'd done that" or "I wish I'd said that", thinking how cool it would have made you look. But what about those times when you get it right and think "damn, I'm good". Those times when you come out of a situation on top, and feeling damn proud of yourself? Here's mine:

There's a kid in the year below at school who thinks he's all that. He struts around with the sum total of two friends (I'm not being hard on the kid, he really does only ever hang around with two people) talking shit to everyone, even if they haven't done or said anything to offend him. Anyway, I play guitar for the swing band after school on thursdays, and this kid plays the trombone, and he gets on my case every week about how crap I am etc. etc. because he's an asshole.

Before the spring dance this year, the band was setting up on the stage (nobody had arrived yet) and I was crouching and fiddling with the knobs on my amp, so this kid thought it would be a hilarious idea to come up behind me and slap me in the back of the head. Now I'm not a violent guy, I'll put up with verbal abuse, but when a kid does that there's no way I'm standing for it. So I took my guitar lead, swung it around a couple of times, and whipped the kid right in the back with the metal jack from across the stage. The band leader was fiddling somewhere else at the time, and the only guy that saw was a good mate of mine who also hates this kid. The kid went bright red, his eyes started watering and he started trying to grab at my face, but I easily held him off until the band leader got back, saw him having a screaming fit, and had a go at HIM

Then the kid started bawling, had a go at the band leader, and stamped out of the hall

Now I'm not saying violence is big or clever, but it's worth it to humiliate brats like that

And I gotta say I felt pretty big afterwards..

So what are your moments? Everyone's gotta have one!

I dunno. I've had a few that happen, mostly when I'm fixing my own or a friend's computer and after an unconventional routine or two, it returns to life. (Also known as the Yeah, Baby! effect)

Usually, I can do a few of those "Damn, I'm good" moments every now n' then, but none of them have been spectacular enough to warrant more than that.

Near the end of the year, our jazz band got to play for the entire school. On my favourite song, "Buffalo Head," I had several measures of fill, all of which I nailed, and then there was the ending. A the end, I had one quarter note of rest, in which I threw one stick quite high and let it come crashing down on the cymbal for the finishing note. It wasn't rehearsed or anything, one of my fellow drummers told me I should do it when I was about halfway through the song. Everyone loved it. That was the "Damn, I'm good" moment that I had.

i usually feel like that when one of my drawings actually goes right, or the night i beat some big headed lanky guy in a tequilla slammer match, on my first major night out too Wink

found him passed out on the toilet while i was equal with him, then someone took advantage of my state and got me to drink more, then i passed out due to lack of sleep (3 days without thx to PSO) and too much alchohol

When I manage to cut down every dead leaves from a branch with my katana without cutting the branch itself or damaging the good ones, it makes me feel special for about 2 seconds or so.

Who would have known that you could mix cherry tree maintening with sword weilding practices?

My neighbors look at me in a strange manner when I use swords in the back yard. Especially with a bastards sword. Katana is lots of fun, though. Plus, I have peach, apple, and pear trees in my yard!

Was when I was talking to a certain guy. I won't name names....but he should know who he is. ^~

And he asked for my screen name, and when I said "senshi no katana", (i've changed it to "kaylaisconfused" since) he said "Isn't senshi japanese, for warrior?" I managed to brush off a cool "Yeah." when my mind was going "OHMAHGOD, He's cute, sweet, AND knows Japanese..." It was only after entering a classroom that I squealed like a school girl.

Actually I haveta go with Haterade...I can't mention my coolest moment...But lets say I finally got the girl...Then a week later she went back to her Ex-boyfriend who didn't appreciate her...Hence why I hate women.

Probably while I was wrestling. I'm going up against what was effectively a bear of a guy. He's squat, wide, and even in a singlet looks like he wears a fur coat. It's down to the second overtime. This means that 7 of the most intense minutes of sports you can participate in has passed. WE have 30 seconds, he's in the down position to start the period. I don't let him up I win, he escapes he wins. with 20 seconds left I catch his body in a cradle hold and proceed to fight most of his muscle power with nothing but my fingers hooked into each other. At the end I felt like my arms would fall off, but I got the win and would have to face two more wrestlers that completely exhasted.

I beat the next one in 40 seconds, and the last one forfeited to me out of fear. I think that qualifies as "Damn, I am good."
