^^;; Most of you probably know and have seen my AMV I created.
I'm a total Amateur and this was my first time editing anything or trying something like an AMV but the overal consensus was that I did a pretty good job. I don't know anywhere to upload the file (it's about 19mb). But feel free to IM me on AIM and I'll be more than happy to transfer the file to you. If you have any criticism I'd really appreciate it too ^^.
For those who don't know, an AMV is an Anime Music Video. I haven't seen too many of them, but I was at an AMV showing at a convention I was staffing at last year. They're pretty interesting, mine's very simple but I like it ^^.
I started making it as something to kill my time waiting for calls back about Jobs. It was alot of fun just -making- the AMV and I think I'll make some more in the future. I hope you all enjoy/enjoyed it ^^.[/url] |

I thought it was great! I really don't know too much about these, and haven't seen too many, but I think you did a super job...especially for your first time.

To win an award it's all about the details that the con going public go for. Though at base it's a huge popularity contest. If you can make the series chosen and the music fit together it would make you think "This song shoulda been part of the series soundtrack" Of course it applies differently depending on the category you wanna win *i.e Comedy, action, romance* Though this is just a few factors in making an ace vid.
In the end it all comes down to style and timing. |

Awards are presented for numerous categories: best concept, best editing, best effects use, stuff like that. They've also got best for category(action, drama, comedy, etc.), and best in show.
It might win an Expo award(maybe for character profile, but that's a longshot), but not Pro. And, of course, he can't enter it in Masters, as you need a previous Pro award just to enter. |

Oh yea, Honestly don't expect it to match up to other AMVs in a contest but it would be dang nice to see my baby on a bigscreen and just to be able to share something I worked on with other people. |

I actually just used Windows Movie Maker. It comes preinstalled on Windows XP. It's really really easy to use and work with. I mean I hadn't even touched it or any editing software and I managed to come out with that video. ^^ |

I'm still learning at the AMV game, I pretty much did this one on my own without anything to guide me. I'm gonna read some tutorials and browse some AMV boards in my free time. Hopefully my next one will be much better. I have an idea for the song and anime already. |
