There are 2 "Gamma Paks" out for Wipeout pure that you can download from the "Download" option in-game.
The paks are supposed to contain new tracks, cars and/or skins.
Good stuff. Gamma Pak 1 is 3.5M, I'm not sure of the size of Gamma Pak 2.
The download is pretty easy. Only takes about 2 or 3 mins.

June 20, 2005 - All the Wipeout Pure fans will be happy to know that the next download of the heavily lauded PSP racer is scheduled to release this week. Gamma Pack 2 will offer two new tracks and two more skins for pure wipeout madness.
In addition to Gamma Pack 2, Sony is re-releasing Gamma Pack 1. For consistency sake, they recommend that users re-download the first Gamma Pack if they've already downloaded the old one. This pack came with the Staten Park track, Tigron racecraft and Pirhana team skin. For users that already have this and want to re-download the pack, it will automatically overwrite the stale one on the memory card.
Gamma Pack 2 has some nice goodies to indulge in. There's a track called the Extostra Run track that has a dark and gritty factory environment. It strikes a stark contrast to the Ubermall track, where everything looks bright and colorful as racers blaze through the interior of a mall environment. The two new skins are called the Qirex Skin and Auricom Skin. You can check out the new screens of this in the gallery.
To download either of the Gamma packs, players can go online from a HotSpot or wireless router and access Wipeout Pure's Downloadable Content feature from inside the game. They can also log onto www.wipeoutpure.com, and download both Gamma Packs right onto their PSP through the USB cable. Gamma Pack 2 will be ready for download this Wednesday, June 22, 2005. Enjoy.
NOTE - June 23, 2005 - Arriving fashionably late, the second Wipeout Pure Gamma Pack has been released this morning. Although the Wipeout Pure website has been late to host the update (it is not available as of this writing, but should be hosted there soon), it can be downloaded inside the Wipeout Pure download service (provided you have a connection to a wireless network.) In addition, SCE clarified the case of the Gamma Pack 1 re-download reasoning with this message:
News from the FX3000 league
Following testing of the Gamma Packs we have found a potential issue that arises once all Gamma tracks have been downloaded. Although this issue has now been resolved we recommend that users who downloaded the original Gamma Pack 1 download it again with Gamma Pack 2.
Note - There is no need to delete the original Gamma Pack 1 from the Memory Stick as re-downloading will simply overwrite the old file. Any profile records that were set using the original Gamma Pack 1 will remain in tact.
Apologies for any inconveniences caused.
To download two new tracks and two new skins for Wipeout Pure, hop into the game and get Gamma Pack 2 now! |

Am I the only one who can't get the damn thing to download via Sony's site?
For both gamma packs i had to resort to random psp sites to find a downloadable file for the gamma packs. Every time I try to download from Sony it says the file is corrupt or the file couldn't be reached o.O |
