OK I recently had to reinstall windows as windows explorer kept crashing. Then I had to get the pc back online, to do this, I had to to link my pc directly to my ADSL router rather than via my ethernet switch and can't remember for the life of me how I had all the cables.

Now I can't get the 360 online unless I plug it into the port that currently houses the ethernet cable that gets me online.

I have a 8 way ethernet switch, with an additional uplink port.

my router is a Zoom X4 model 5551 ADSL router with a LAN, RX D and Link light on the front (aswell as the obligatury power light).

currently its set up like this:

Uplink: cable from Router to Switch
port 1: cable from switch to network card

I've tried putting the 360 in every other available port but its just not working, yet if I take out the cable from port 1 and plug it into there it works fine.

I've also had the pc connecting fine with this setup
Uplink: Cable from switch to network card
Port 1: cable from router to switch

Before the reinstallation it was running fine, but I cant figure out what the problem is now, any help?

it also seems that it might not be registering anything in the other ports, although I the lights on the front of the switch have never worked so I can't find a way of knowing.
