It will just take time and patience. This is more or less the start of a general threat to the oil industry. You can bet they will do everything in their power to delay it. I figure it just takes the right incident and the right amount of people to do it. They'll get their moment. |

See the worst thing is that the petrolium industry makes most of their money of thinks like petrolium jelly and glues.
Why the hell are we still paying so much for fucking gas! |

I'll third that. However, I do agree with Girkon that this is a potential threat to the oil industry, and given enough people, change can occur. We are now constantly complaining that gas prices are way to high, but despite our complaints, we are forced to drive our cars, or else sacrifice our livelihood. And because we still buy the gas, skewed statistics are released so that the companies claim that there is a demand, even though they know it's a bullshit skewed demand. In other words, they hide behind the fact that we're forced to buy gas from them. And it's a wonder why more people don't realize this, rise up, and (to quote Lewis Black) "slay them".
This hydrogen burning thing is, in actuality, a very important thing, however. You see, with hybrids, there is still a demand for gas, just less of it. And if, theoretically, everyone switched to hybrid cars, gas prices would soar to astronomical levels to compensate for less gas being consumed. And when people start to complain, they will be completely silenced with the fact that hybrid cars were not intended to reduce the amount of money you spend on gas, but were created to be environmentally friendly. So now, the people who bought hybrids to save money on gas kick themselves in the ass because now they're in the same boat.
But now enters the hydorgen engine. It now represents an alternative to the evil, monopolistic oil industry. However, also like Girkon mentioned, it is a question of numbers. One or two or a hundred voices is not enough to spark change. It has to be monumental. And fortunately, most of the country (and world) is probably in agreement, but is too afraid to say anything. So what has to be done is that an article like this NEEDS to be sent to EVERYONE you know. It has to be exposed to as many people as possible, and they have to expose it to as many people as possible. And before you know it, you have enough voices to be heard, and you can rise up and "slay the beast".
And that, my friends, is how to spark a revolution... |

Ok, this is interesting indeed. I know that magnesium already had the heat, as well as hot oil, to separate water into separate molecules.
So yea...lets start this revolution thing. As my shirt says:
"When injustice becomes law, Resistance becomes Duty"
So lets get resisting! |

Electrolysis takes energy, more energy than burning the resulting H2 and O2 molecules would produce, thats why you couldent just dump water into the tank and have it run. That would basicly be cold fusion, as water is the byproduct of Hydrogen fuel cells. As of now, Hydrogen fuel cell cars dont work because there is no real efficient way of collecting or producing H2. you either collect if from the atmosphere (to much time and money), or create it with electrolysis (with the electricity usualy coming from the oil burning plants, which defeats the purpose and wastes energy). Once a low cost way of aquiring large amounts of H2 is found, fuel cells will take off, weather the oil companies like it or not. once it becomes cheep, people will switch. |

Buda is right.
The water cars and Hydrogen cars have already been introduced.
But the energy it takes to create Hydrogen would take almost twice as much gas/fuel then it would produce.
If the water car were true it would be a Perpetual machine...Of which is yet to exist. The closest we have come is by creating plasma. It creates almost as much energy as it takes to create itself.
In theory a Hydrogen car would work but every night and during the day you would need to plug in your car to save up a battery with a 220 volt output.
Considering car batteries are at 12V you gotta think the 220 Volt battery is one helluva battery.
I think your house is only 120 Volt recepticals so you'd need an adapter just to pump out the 220 Volts. |
