So i went out today cause i was bored, and bought Geist for my GameCube. Lemme give you the initial premise of the game:
You are a guy who gets shot and captured on a mission to extract your friend from a research center. After capture, they put you in this strange contraption that separates your spirit from your body, thus making you a...thats right...ghost.
The object is to find your friend, and escape from the research center. THe thing is...you're a spirit...so how are you gonna do that?
Possession comes to mind.
You have to possess objects in order to scare people enough to possess them, taking over their body, and using their skills to move about the actual game. Also, you need to be possessing quite often, since as you are in your etheral form, you lose energy as you slowly deteriorate into the afterlife. This existance can be prolonged as long as you possess something, so as long as there is an object to hop into, you are safe.
So far, the game is hysterical. At times, serious...but all the moments when you have to scare someone comes up, its funny.
EDIT: Addon: In addition to the above, ive gotten some early observations:
~Unlimited ammo. Thats right, you have to reload, but you have unlimited ammo. While its fun to have unlimited ammo, it kind of takes away from some parts of the game when you can just hide behind a wall and wait for guys to run up to you to attack.
~Time-slowing in Ghost-mode: When you're in ghost mode, everything goes slower, which is kind of nice, since it gives you a chance to get your bearings after you leave a host. Also, many times, you mess up and hit hte B-button early on, and accidentally leave a host. Giving you the advantage of slow-time when that happens makes it easier to rectify the mistake |
