The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly: The Game
The Man With No Name is coming to a game platform near you.

September 13, 2005 - Joining the ranks of The Godfather, Scarface, Taxi Driver, Jaws, and Dirty Harry in the realm of movie to videogame transitions, the classic Sergio Leone spaghetti westerns known collectively as "The Man With No Name" trilogy starring Clint Eastwood (if you have not seen these films do yourself a favor and see them NOW - they're superb) will soon be making a quick draw on your preferred gaming platform, according to a report at GameDaily.biz.

In a deal with MGM Interactive, United Kingdom-based Bits Studios, who last developed the game version of the film "Constantine", acquired the rights to the "The Man With No Name" trilogy and intends to develop the third game in the trilogy - "The Good, the Bad, and The Ugly" - as the first game in the series. Bits Studios CEO Foo Katan indicated that he is considering using Mr. Eastwood's vocal talents for the game though using other actors from the film would be difficult as many of them are deceased. However, Bits Studios has secured rights to the film's distinctive, classic music score by Ennio Morricone which Katan considers "the most important aspect we embrace in the game beyond the film itself."

According to Bits Studios, the third-person-perspective game will follow a storyline different than that of the original film but will embrace the "tone" of the western classic. Katan stated that the game will "incorporate horseback riding, brawling and gun fighting in an open Western environment."

While no publisher has yet been announced, the game in scheduled to ship next year for PC, Xbox, PlayStation 2 and PlayStation Portable.

Between this game and the upcoming Gun and Call of Juarez, fans of the Old West (like yours truly) are finally getting what we have longed for! You can be sure that we will keep you informed as we get new info on this on pardner!
