District Choral compitition

This morning i got up a 5:30 got in a full tux, and went to the disrict competion to sing at 8:00(....so...tired....). Though i felt we could have done better, i still feel that we did good. as for the scores, i havent got them, but ill post them up as soon as i know(probably about this time tommrow).

Anyway, for those not familier with a choral competition, we sing 2 songs, that we have practiced for a few months, in front of 3 judges, and get rated on how well we did, correct pitches, rythms, words, vowels, following the director etc. etc. and we get a score of 1-4, 1 being the best 4 obviosly the worst. then we go to a room with a single judge and get handed a peice of music writen either the day before or that morning, so no one has seen it before, and we have 5 minutes to learn it and sing it. we have 2 chances to sing it on the notes, and our director is not alowed to beat the rythem, or sing or play the notes, we get our starting pitches, and thats it.

anyway, it was early, but i had lots of fun.

Sounds like you had your day cut out for yah buda-san! Hope your scores are as high as your inteclect. (which in my opinion is pretty high) Razz

yay, strait 1s across the board, 96 95 93 (out of a posible 100) on the regular songs and a 94 on the sight reading, which was a state level peice btw. all in all, higher than i predicted, but im happy

Hasah! Our LGP isn't until like, a long long time from now. March I think? I dont know. Anyways, hopefully the choral will perform well. We are doing the Cantique de Jean Racine. Dr. Raines told Miss Gibbs we have a fab sound and are going to be the best program in the state within the next 5 years or so.
