And that guy had to empty his magazine in the crowd, killing 3 other innocent people and wounding 2, the coward ... I'm almost disapointed they shot him, I hope he suffered a lot in his last dying breath.

I remember hearing this on the news the other night on TV. What REALLY pissed me off is that the newscasters kept talking about how we were going to see the "violent side of Heavy Metal", the "violent side of Heavy Metal", the "violent side". WHAT F**KING VIOLENT SIDE?! They made it seem like the MUSIC was the cause of this act. No, it wasn't the freakin' music. This article didn't mention it, but the TV news mentioned it...the shooter was either a Marine or an ex-Marine...I don't remember which one exactly. This is a case of someone flipping out for whatever the reason was, which most likely had nothing to do with the fact that there is a "violent side of heavy metal".
Sorry to turn this into a rant, but it PISSES me off when people blame these things on music...especially the kind of music that I listen to. It's not the music, its the PEOPLE. Just like when the tried to pin the Columbine shooting on Marilyn Manson. After I recently bought his greatest hits CD, I've been REALLY into Marilyn Manson. And you know what? There's NOTHING in his lyrics that would make anyone want to shoot anything. It's all ignorance. If you try to look past the lyrics and the weirdness, you'll actually find a talented artist.
