questions regarding editting and conversion software

hey y'all--

2 types of software q's:

first (by the way i need this for macs--i built my pc for gaming not for design):

i am trying to work on my animation demo reel and was wondering if any of you amv/video/music/etc making types know of good software to get to help me import, edit and compile it together and output to beta, video, vcd and dvd. basically i want them to be able to watch it when i go into an interview with out them necessarily having to be on a computer.

i will be working with jpgs/photoshop/illustrator files and mp3s. i already have flash (which struggles with the jpgs since it is vector based) and premier and was wondering if there is any other software y'all recommend for putting the frames and music together. i don't know if i need to convert anything either in the reel making process to so if you think i will, suggestions for conversion software would be good too.

second (this one can be for pc though i would prefer mac )

i am trying to make an mp3 a ring tone. there is a song i love and i want it as my ring tone but i'm not sure if i have to have a certain kind of file to upload it on my phone. i have a motorola v300 and my service is tmobile. if you have done this or know of any info on any conversion software i might need i'd appreciate your input!

Well, for A) - you could use iMovie to do the editing, mixing and compiling up to the export point. From there, iMovie can record back to certain types of tapes, I think... (I've done importing and exporting with miniDV, and so I have no real idea whether it'll output to a beta tape or not. It might. For VCD and DVD, perhaps iDVD will be able to help you there.

for B) - No clue. Is your phone equipped to play MP3s as ring tones? Because otherwise, you'll need to convert somehow... again, no clue.
