Good god, this is momumental.
Im serious here, It's mean sure, its pretty funny all by its self, but look at this seriously. A major fast food chain has a binding contract to operate within an MMO game. This is semi scary, product placement in a virtual world? We've seen it in many current games, among them racers like NFSU:2, but bringing it in this new form into a real online world is different in a hundred ways. In a normal game, your experience is basically the same time, the game operates in set parameters. Online worlds, by contrast, are changing, growing, and living places with real people, seasonal events, mirrored time scales, etc.
How far down the rabbit hole will it go? Will I be able to port to a Papa John's after I finish a dungeon and place my order with a virtual employee? How about pay for my meal in game with my credit card? Very intriguing, and before you scoff and say "that could never happen", log onto EQ2 and type /pizza. |

Dood! They need to do that in WoW but replace "Pizza Hut" with "Johnny's" or "doubles" or somethin like that...I need a pizza..I done ain't had it in forever. |
