Well I played for a few minutes and wasn't that impressed. I think the load time for everything and the billions of menus kinda killed my interest in the game overall.
The cars seem to be easier to handle compared to GT3. That's a plus. Dustin will probably post more since it's his game and I won't play too much more after this. |

The screen doesn't make up for the gameplay and having to go in and out of hundreds of menus to get anything done. At least it's easier to drive in this game in comparison to the last and you can import your cars and money from the GT3 save you may or may not have. I started a game from scratch cause I don't know what happened with my original save information from GT3. Not that it matters cause I think I only had one car anyways. LOL
PROS and CONS:
The graphics are awesome. That we knew before the game was out anyways.
If there wasn't a used car area it would have taken me ages to find a car I could afford!
Haven't found a way to keep from watching the movies before the races. Ugh. So until then I have to wait.
It has a neat photo area but I don't understand how to get the images from the PS2 to the computer. O.o |

Well I know Shino doesn't care about anyone elses opinion against his own. That was established a long time ago. ; ) I was just saying the game isn't worth the hype behind it. |

I love the new menu system. And I do not believe with the 10k cr they start you with that there is a car you can buy new out there.. Which is fine because you can get a used one (some are really nice) or get some licenses like you need to anyway and get free cars. Like the Pontiac GXP Concept thingy.. Thats what im using for now.
The running start thing is a little sad just because it kills a lot of the first gear acceleration i always have.. And drifting is a lot easier in this game. So is wiping out.
Anywhos. No game is worth the hype but this one is atleast more exciting then the last one. |

Got it. Love it. It is harder than a straight man filming a lesbian orgy for the first time, but it is still as fun as a lesbian orgy.
What a crappy analogy. So anyway, buy it o_o You can save photos to a USB thumbdrive. Here are some of mine
http://alanspics1.homestead.com/files/prelude_5_after.jpg (this image was sharpened in PS very slightly because I use it as desktop)
http://alanspics1.homestead.com/files/some_pos_italian_car.jpg
http://alanspics1.homestead.com/files/prelude_after.jpg (this image was brightened a bit, sharpened a bit, and has a bit increased contrast because I didn't know you could play around with the filters, etc. in the actual GT4 picture mode until later)
My Prelude is sexy.
Played it for most of the afternoon. You don't have to go through an assload of menus to get stuff done, except for when you want to restart a race. Otherwise things are pretty straightforward.
To not watch movies before race starts, don't hit Preview. Just hit Enter Race.
Photo Mode > You. All you need to get the images to your compy is a USB flash drive. Just plug it into the USB port of your PS2. When you go to save the image, set the destination to the USB drive. Plain and simple
Load time kind of sucks, but it is more than tolerable. Don't judge the game on just a few minutes, spend the day with it it. Unless you hate simulations, disappointment is impossible |

You are absolutly right about this. I fell in love with GT when the first one game out all those years ago.

You know NBK, I actually take offense to this. I respect everyones opinion. And it is possible to change my opinion on things if you provide enough evidence/material for me to change it.
The menu system isn't enough to change my opinion.
The fact that you don't like the game play isn't enough. B/c the gameplay will be a lot like GT3, which I loved.
I think it does deserve the hype. The only problem I see, is that the AI is still really stupid.

You know, Hoth, if you have GT3, you can import up to 100K credits to your GT4 file.
Man I can't wait to see this game! Gah! Why do I have to work! |
