Alright, everyone! I know that I, and probably several others, are dying to know where some of the names of their fav Pocket Otakus come from. I mean, with cray names like these, there's gotta be SOME kind of story behind them.
Here, I'll go first:
Sperrit (weird name, right?) is based on a character that I met when I started writing my second book. His original name was Brast, but I just didn't like the way that it sounded and changed it to Sperrit. Sperrit was a guardian of The Forest. As a Pocket Otaku, though, we see him many years after that story has taken place, and something has gone wrong, though we don't know what.
Anyway, that's the orgin of MY name. Now let's here yours!

Mine actually came from a character in Suikoden I (I think it was part 1, may have been two, doesn't matter they both kicked arse!). My favorite charcter in the game was named "Shiro." Those of you that remember, he was the dog and he was one of the most powerful characters, especially when paired with his master. So I took Shiro and just stuck an N in there. Shino! Then I played PSO and named my character DarthShino. Put him in all black and gave him a Double Saber/Twin Brand and just went at it. Then I found one of the NPCs in the game. The Ninja "Shino." All I could say was...

WTF?

Oh well. It's still my name dammit!!!

Mine is nothing but a bastardized version of the japanese word "shuriken" It's funny because people often think I accidentally mispelled the name and hence always call me Shuriken. o.O;;

Sciler is from when i first played Final Fantasy 2, I saw the word relics, and decided to spell it backwards.

RELICS = SCILER Very Happy

Mistress FuFu came from PSOtakus board actually. THe fufu comes from a pic that my guy had sent me that was entitled Squinty FuFu because the sun was shining bright and he was squinty in the pic, but I thought the fufu part was hilarious so being a smartass one night, I said that I would be Mistress FuFu about something...and it just kinda stuck once my semi dominating side came out ^^;

The name Cobalt's got a whole bunch of meaning for me, and has been around nearly forever: Story time!! Wiggle

The original Cobalt was a Megaman fan-character that I was creating nearly 6 years ago. He was first nameless, a custom sprite of Zero with ice-blue hair and a deep medium-blue armor. A good friend of mine at the time, Matt, suggested the name Cobalt when I was trying to think up a name. Based on his armor's color and all. The fan-character only lasted so long, but the name lasted onto the next character I created. I had joined a Sonic the Hedgehog -themed MUCK (a text-based roleplaying world), and needed to create a character. So I created a medium-blue echidna with a black t-shirt and jeans using the name Cobalt. As my interests changed, so did the look of Cobalt. When I got obsessed with vampires and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, I adjusted his look to be that of an orange echidna with fire-like markings and the full gothic getup. I even spelled his name differently sometimes, Kobaruto, because it looked interesting. On the MUCK I built him an immense castle based on Castlevania and filled with midis of its music. In the midst of my obsession, I went on a vacation to the Netherlands with my mom and sister. We stayed in a small apartment with a beautiful view from the balcony. I had purchased a UK gaming mag from a street vendor near the bus stop. In it, I was introduced to my next obsession: Klonoa: Door to the Phantomile. So I started to draw, and came up first with an echidna dressed like Klonoa. That looked really stupid. So I tried another drawing of a sortof orange version of the original character with altered colors on the clothing. The next version of Cobalt was born. Since I had no clue what sort of species Klonoa was, I gave it the name "kittiefox" based on the idea that he looked like a combination of a cat and a fox. So in the true tradition of Sonic-style character naming, the char became known as Cobalt the Kittiefox. He became known for his enormous ears, and while they're not as big now, the tradition still carries on. There was a period of time when I was sick of the color orange, and so I decided to give Cobalt a complete makeover. He was now a white kittiefox with thin pointy ears from both sides, and an outfit that almost resembles his current one, but with brown as the main color. He also had a green gauntlent of sorts, inspired by the game Legend of Legaia. That's when his name came into full bloom as well. I didn't like the Sonic-style name, and so gave him a real last name: Katze, the german word for cat. I also revamped the name of his species into somthing less cutsey, kitsuneko: a meshing of the two japanese words kitsune and neko. Eventually, after mass riots and protests from my closest friends at the time, I reverted back to the color orange. Physically, that's when my character started looking how he does now. But his colors have shifted over the past two and a half years. First he was straight mango-orange, no markings. Then I gave him a cream colored face and upper-arms/legs fading to orange for the rest. Then finally the red panda markings came about a little over a year ago, and have stuck, formulating a final character design.

*gasps* well that was long and drawn-out.. hehe

Doot came from a longtime nickname of mine from when I was but a wee Doot.

When I was a toddler my parents would ask me how I was doing, and when I tried to say Pretty Good it came out Pee Doot. So that day forward I was Peedoot. Then over the past 2 years it has been shortened to Doot. Which I am quite fond of.

*Take2

BWS-1 Katana: 20" blade black epoxy coated high-carbon steel. 10" nylon paracord wrapped handle. Sheath is made of Kydex with nylon belt loop.

It is my sword, and in short, I consider it as my soul (like the samurai) It was the name of my PSO character because I wanted him to be a virtual representation of my soul, and for that, I gave him my material version of my soul's name, BWS-1. I kept using that nick for my online name since then.

On many aspects, it resembles my personality, metaphorically speaking. On the outside, it seems dark and evil, but in the inside, it is clear and pure as silver. It is probably not the finest blade, it probably doesn't cut as well as others, but this blade can't be easely broken... some say it just CAN'T be broken. It'll bend over, it'll be smashed on concret, it'll take punishment without shattering itself. It can be used as a shield to deflect bullets because of the width of the blade. I can also be used efficiently with the reversed edge of the blade to break bones. It's also not an easy one to get to take out of the casing. You'll probably know this blade only as one stuck in it's casing, and probably never see the color of it's edge. But if as you learn more about it, you'll find the technique to take it out, and know the blade that hides behind the casing. Once out, it's a wonderful blade to wield. But be careful, if you get to close of it's edge, you'll cut yourself deep ...

So there you have it! that's what BWS-1 means. Smile

boring story behind mine.............but if you insist

it was actually given to me by a friend on PSO, i wanted to make a new character (I'd got my RAcast Mumunk 2001 to lvl 100 and was tired of losing my FOnewearl and struggling with her until she was strong enough to defend herself) so I asked this friend and he said a HUmar (blonde/brown curtains, blue costume, medium height and build) and suggested the name Rivaoni i thought it sounded quite cool but i altered it by making the o a capital and hence RivaOni was born
