here is a recipie that i made in culinary class way back in the beginning of the year
Korean Style BBQ Short Ribs
1 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup sugar
1/8 cup sliced green onion
1 tablespoon white sesame seeds
2 tablespoons sesame oil
2 tablespoons ko chu jang (Korean hot pepper sauce)
1 1/2 pounds short ribs (have your butcher cut 1/8-inch thick slices of short ribs, bone attached)
Preheat a grill.
Combine soy sauce, sugar, green onions, sesame seeds, sesame oil, and ko chu jang with ribs and marinate for 30 minutes to 1 hour. Grill over charcoal barbecue grill.
Note: Adjust sweetness or spiciness by adding more or less of either sugar or ko chu jang sauce.
this stuff is uber l337 in my book. the only problem is that it only makes 4 servings, so it would be wise to probably multiply the recipie by more stuff in order to get it better.
The good thing is that it is fairly easy...a true culinary delight with simplicity |

Of course, being the good ol' raised in the country, southern belle girl I am, I have the handed-down binder of recipies. ^^ It's a three ring binder filled to the point of bursting. Well, I have to scurry off to school in 30 minutes, but I'll type up a few of my favorites before I go:
*flips to the 'desserts' section in the massive binder*
I'll give you all some valentines day stuff since V-day is this friday:
Cream Hearts -
Makes: 6 Hearts
Prep: 10 minutes Chill: 24 hours
1½ Packages (8 ounces each) cream cheese, at room temperature
1½ teaspoons coconut extract
1 cup heavy cream
½ cup confectioners' sugar
¼ cup light rum
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 cup pineapple juice
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
1/3 (I can't make that fraction o.o;; ) cup unsweetened flake coconut, toasted.
1. Beat together cream cheese and coconut extract in a medium-size bowl until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes.
2. beat cream and confectioners' sugar in second medium-sized bowl until soft peaks form. Gently fold one quarter qhipped cream into cheese mixture. Spoon into 8 x 8 x 2 inch baking dish lined with plastic wrap, with wrap extending over edges. Refrigerate 24 hours.
Pecan Pie (I'd also like to add the note here: This is one of my favorite recipies, because it's one of those infamous family recipies that's been handed down generation to generation. It's most recent movements: My grandad's mother gave it to my grandmother, and since my mom can't cook, it just came strait to me! Hee. Supposedly, I make it just like my grandad's mother...but whee. Come over and I'll make it for you anytime! )
2/3 Cup sugar
1/3 Cup margerine
1 cup corn syrup
½ tsp salt
3 eggs
1 cup pecans chopped
Heat oven to 375. In a pot heated on medium heat (on the stove) beat sugar, margarine, corn syrup, salt and eggs with hand beater. Stir in pecans. Pour into pie shell. Bake until set. 40 to 50 minutes. 8 servings.
See, easy as pie. (no pun intended.)
I'll type up some more when I get home...I'll have all afternoon. ^~ |

Woodland Stew:
Get a Kettle (rimshot!)
Fill it with water
Put it over a roaring fire
Gather natural ingredients from the woods, such as spices and potatoes and carrots and roots and veggies!
Lastly, and this is very important, DO NOT ADD MEAT OR ELSE THE FOREST WILL RISE UP AGAINST YOU!
Boil for an hour or two and enjoy!
