(WSB) - The Georgia Supreme Court today unanimously declared that Georgia's fornication law does not permit the govermment to "reach into the bedroom of a private residence and criminalize the private, noncommercial, consensual acts of two persons legally capable of concenting" to sexual activity.
The court found that georgia's constitutional right to privacy protects a sixteen-year-old from boy from Fayette county who was prosecuted for having sex with his 16-year old girlfriend in her bedroom. ACLU spokesman Gerry Weber says the law was seldom used and selectively enforced. He says the Georgia Supreme Court reaffirmed the sanctity of our bedrooms from invasion by the eyes and arms of the government. |
now not that i think 16 yr olds should be having sex, that I dont agree with, BUT Im glad they finally see that what we do in our own homes, is our own damn business. Way to go

All I have to say is ... 'bout time! I wonder if we have such a law here in Canada, then again, everyone here seems to be "doing it" before they reach 18, so I guess we already have that law, well I hope.  |
