Brennan Hawkins, found yesterday in Utah after being lost for several days, pointed to an unlikely source as his motivation to keep going.
The Fox Report with Shepard Smith has reported that a favorite Nintendo franchise was elemental in saving a young boy scout that had been lost in the Utah wilderness for days.
Brennan Hawkins, the 11-year old boy scout, was lost for four days in the Uinta Mountains of rural Utah before being found by searchers yesterday afternoon. Brennan's overall condition is excellent and he is only being treated for some bumps, bruises and dehydration from the four day ordeal.
Once found, Brennan drank bottles of water, ate all of the granola bars that the searchers had and asked to play an unspecified video game on one of his rescuers' cell phone.
So far, Brennan has been relatively quiet about his journey. His mother, Jody said, "It's gonna take some time to process this event in our heads."
However, at a press conference earlier today, Brennan mentioned to Fox reporters that one of his motivations to keep going trails all the way back to home. He had recently ordered a set of Pokémon TCG cards online and thought that they would have arrived at his house by that point. Little Brennan was determined to return home so he could open up his new Pokémon cards!
This is inadvertantly the third extreme Nintendo-related excursion in recent months. First, skydivers tested out a four-player battle on Nintendo DS units while in the air, and were shortly followed by a mountaineer that climbed Mount Everest with his DS.
Nintendo was unavailable for comment tonight, but Advanced Media is happy to report that the joy of gaming was seemingly instrumental in little Brennan's recovery! |
