S'more to add on the news:
Opposition leader Stephen Harper has been actively campaigning against the gay marriage law, and currently claims that the vote is meaningless because the Quebec Block voted in favor of the law. It's been his focus for a while and he has lost some support over it because it seemed to be his only focus. Meanwhile, a few Liberals went ahead and voted against the law, one of them resinging from his post as minister in order to gain the right to vote on the law. All in all, there's a lot of division going on among the politicians at the Parliament these days... :\ |

They think it will pass but the people with the money determine what happens in a country...SInce Conservatism teaches you how to grow self wealth/worth there's a chance they can simply pay off the easily corrupted Liberals and stop this dead in its tracks.
I'm not saying it's a bad Idea I'm just saying stop counting your chickens before they're hatched. |

Still, even in the (hopefully) unlikely event that it should stall out, the fact that it passed the parliament house counts for something significant. While it may be a divisive issue still, it shows that the Canadian MPs can entertain and pass a measure without giving in to the knee-jerk reactions that seem to dominate most discussions of the issue Stateside.

personally, i dont see what peoples problems are with gay marriage, if these people fall in love with smoebody of the same sex, then surely theyre allowed to go through the same things as heterosexual people do to show others how much they love this person |
