DA Needs to take a SERIOUS look at themselves

I just had all my icons deleted, because DA can't seem to wrap their heads around the fact that we just can't send a e-mail to people in JAPAN saying "Hey, I'm going to use you're picture as an icon, can I?" IT CAN'T BE DONE. IT'S COMMON SENSE. And yet THEY MISS IT. EVERY TIME.

They put the REAL art theives on PEDESTEALS and treat artits who WORK THEIR BUTTS OFF, LIKE THE ART THEIVES! WHAT THE HELL!? DA, LOOK AT YOURSELF!! YOU'RE PATHETIC! You loosing you're orignal VISOIN. This place is becoming a haven FOR ART THEIVES, because apperently you NEVER do anything ANYTHING about it. And that's just SAD. I came here, as a place to display MY ART. NOT OTHER'S. THat means, those icons, although pictures from anime's are still mine, therefore you have NO RIGHT TO remove them. Allright?

Because if they don't, then I can just see the real artists LEAVING ALL OF THEM- EVERY LAST ONE. And then, you're place will just be full of stupid people and art theives. Yeah. You'll REALLY be embracing art THEN.

Oh, and dont' tell me we can't "post icons". Because if we can't....Why THE HECK IS THERE A SECTION FOR IT!? Huh? Yeah, that wouldn't make any sense.

I heard something called Sheezy art or something like that.

Yeah, I think I did. And yeah there is. But I'm waiting before I have to transfer my account AND the majority of the stuff in it. You know how much of a PAIN that would be? O.O

Bizarelly, by buddy icons of Haru, Elie, Vampire Duzie and Musica weren't touched during all this. O.O Although they may still be....

Probably a big pain but if you don't wanna deal with DA it might be the best thing to do. You could start transferring all your archives of stuff over there in chunks. That way you don't have to do it all at once.

Ultra, You CAN'T do it in chunks. It has to be ONE BY ONE. Which is why it's so annoying.

I want to be on your side, Bekuki, I really do. But it says in the DA policy that you can only post things on DA if they are 100% yours, or if you have the written permission from the original owner. You agreed to follow their policy when you signed up with them. The admin that deleted your stuph probably followed your account when they were deleting those other rippers =(

Can you e-mail someone in Japan telling them you want to use it? No, no you can't.

Also, saying that immeditily declares that FANART IS NOT ALLOWED. There may be a section to that, but according to their policy "the charater's not yours, so it has to go". My friend had few pieces of fanart actually DELETED for a reason as DUMB as that. Yeah, creidt and everything but they were TAKEN DOWN.

Sweetie, DA is going to the art theives and the stupid people, because apprently theres no room for fanartists, coloring book editors, icon makers, anime wallpaper makers. There's only room for people who can freehand, do CG by "the book", tradtional art even if it's TRACED.

Oh yeah, DA's policy seems to allow for TRACED IMAGES, therefore they can't delete coloring book edits, cause THAT'S what they are.

See my point? DA's own policy is scewred up.

And I KNOW where SheezyArt is.

And oh yeah, they belived an art theif over an artist. They BANNED Pyscorain who is A WONDERFUL artist, because they belived someone who was trying to STEAL HER IDEINITY. Yeah. DA' REAL great.

If you can't get permission, then don't post it. Post something else that follows the submission agreement you agreed to before you ever posted anything.

And no, that doesn't mean you can't post fanart. One of the most popular artists on DA, *astrima does nothing but NiGHTS into Dreams fanart (well, she has a few original pieces here and there, but the majority of it is NiD fanart). All of her pieces are original and brimming with creativity. DA takes down any "fanart" pieces that are copies or traces of originals because it can be viewed as copyright infringement.

No, DA isn't going to art thieves and stupid people. What you don't seem to realize is that by posting copied/traced "fanart," icons, and wallpapers, you are an art thief. You are the very person you have set out to hunt. You are stealing other artist's work and claiming it as your own. Sure, you made it into a wallpaper size and did some editing, or you traced the lines in photoshop and colored it yourself, but that's still art thieving. You may not be directly downloading and uploading, you may have put some work into it in-between, but you still are stealing from the original artist by posting it without their permission.

You can make icons and wallpapers. But only with your own work, or work that you have permission to use (there are plenty of really good artists on DA that would allow to use their art in a wallpaper; you just have to ask them first).

No, DA's policy doesn't allow for traced images. Have you ever even read the damned thing???

Now, if you said that because so many people get away with posting traced images--well, there are only so many man-hours in a day, and the admins can't filter through every single thing that's posted in order to keep out traced material (you also have to consider that in order to spot a piece that was traced, the admin would have to have seen the original). What they do catch, however, they do delete.

And there was no need for you to get snippity. I posted SA's address in case you didn't have it. It was meant as a kind gesture. I'm trying to be nice to you, I want to be on good terms with you. You are making it increasingly difficult with this defensive attitude of yours. Please, please, please just lighten up a little =)

I AM NOT ARGUING WITH YOU! I was STATING MY POINT. And I find It vaild. AND I'M STILL NOT ARGUING WITH YOU. Or Defesinve, OR SNIPPITY. And of course I have it, I wouldn't have none about it otherwise, it's just common sense.

And dearie, in my OPINON, I'm just saying MY OPNION, You are naive. NOBODY sits around reading the policy. ART IS ART IS ART IS ART IS ART. And that's it? And yes, DA is GOING DOWN, FAST. And according to SEVERL people who have ALSO READ THE POLICY, YES, TRACING AN IMAGE IS ALLOWED. Allright, I wasn't just saying that because so many people do it.

But apprently fanart is highly restriced though. My friend had fanart doll pieces delted. Proboly because "oh they weren't a fanart seciton even though pixel DOESN'T HAVE ONE." And it's just stupid and pointless that their even WORRIED about a Japanese animator going "Oh no, that person used my image. I'm going to sue the WHOLE site."

And I am NOT an art theif. You take those words and put them back where they came from. Because that's not me. And art theif just right clicks, saves, and uploads. I put time and effort INTO EVERY PIECE. I AM NOT AN ART THEIF. GOT IT?

Oh, and I'm still arguing.

The overall point is I WORK MY BUTT OFF DOING ALL MY ART. Therefore, I DO NOT feel like they have the right TO DISMISS ALL MY EFFORT and just remove it. And right now, I'm feeling YOU'RE dissmissing it too. End of disscuison, it may sound ignorant, but don't repely, because I DO NOT want to be warned by the admins for arguing over something like this. Okay? I'm done here, and so are you.
