Covered in my job

Yea, so as you all know, I'm a Café lead at my local barnes and nobles, and since there is no manager at the moment, that means that I'm the acting manager for the time being...yet still as Lead.

So, today was a routine thursday: The shipment comes in, i put it away, and thats about that. Well, i send a guy on break, and fill in for him, and start to make drinks like its my job (and yes, it is my job). Well, things took a turn for the worst, as while you do things simulaneously, and one part of the process gets thrown off, it causes everything for me to go hay-wire. Well, first, a full mohca frap falls onto my right leg, and my shoe, which was slippery, and cold. Then the milk that i had steaming boils over, covering the counter in hot milk that smells burnt. Continuing that process into the back, i slip and almost fall on my arse, which was close indeed, cause i would have gone headfirst into the refridgerator (which is big and made of metal.) Back out on the floor, as i come sliding across, i begin making the next 3 drinks that the next guy ordered. Now, im pretty uncomfortable, but alas, as im closing up his last drink, the lid goes in and tips, pouring a nice hot latte all over myself.

About 10 minutes later, the guy who went on break got back, and i took my break, spending my 45 minutes at home, in the shower, getting the smell out of my skin.

Surprisingly enough, though, i for some reason maintained cool throughout the whole ordeal, and just kept on making drinks.

Anywho, figured you all wanted to know.

Ouch, Sounds like one of those days.
Definitly good that you kept your cool.
Alot of people would have probably just broken down and gotten angry/whatever. So Kudos to you Senior ^^.

I know those days all too well and it looks like you handled your situation well. Perhaps you should ask about becomming the manager since there isn't one and you pretty much are doing it now.

only problem BM is that i start school soon, and i'll be part time.

That, and they did hire a new manager, its just a matter of training time that he has to spend outside the store before he comes in. Until then, its all on my shoulders for the time being.
