OK. So my husband calls me tonight and is like, "I just got out of the bar. Now I am going to study group."

Hmmmm. How is it you study after having a couple of beers? Don't get me wrong. I like the drink every once in a while myself. But I hardly passed finals after knocking back a few (those of you who have seen me drunk know what I mean).

This from a guy who gets sleepy after one!

Anyone care to expound on this FACINATING phenomenon?

Well ya see Saleb, Beer lowers the body temperature. (Read that in a beer magazine) And since we ALL know how heated study groups can get your hubby is simply saving his passion driven heat for you when he gets home.

(I should be a lawyer or something with how well I shovel this stuff around....hehehe)

Angel Demon

Well, when you study, you want to be loose about being in a close group of people. If that is the case, there is nothing like Alcohol to relieve stress and loosen yourself up. This way, when DocX makes it to his study group, there is no akwardness

OK... true story!

My last semester in college, I had to take History of Theatre to satisfy my elective requirements. I also had Operating System that semester. OS was first and Theatre was 2 hours afterward. My friend Stephen was in both classes. After OS, we would go to Underground Atlanta to have lunch. Well the only resturant that was open at the time and had decent food was Hooters. (Believe me when I say you really do go to this Hooters for the food!!!) During lunch, we would take down 1-2 pitchers of beer... everyday... between classes. So we would always go to Theatre anywhere from buzzing to tipsy. Well that may have made it easier for us to have so much fun in that class. (Remembers quoting Monty Python and the Holy Grail in the back of the class... "Bring out ya dead!") Well either way, we both got As and got to exempt the final (something that only graduating seniors could do).

That's what Beer does for studying. Laughing

Yeah, but that's Theater. And it's not like he's going into class drunk, he's going to STUDY drunk. I think that both Rev and Az have good points, but of course in order for that study time to be worth ANYTHING you can't be drunk enough to forget things after it wears off. And if this guy gets buzzed off of one beer... Well, sounds like it's not a good idea.

I think that point is not that BEER is a bad thing! Beer has it's place in the world and it is a good place indeed! However, it only belongs in study groups under certain circumstances with limitations. Unless it's one of those "study groups" that really isn't anything of the sort. Then it's all gravy!
