Dilemma

Well, I've got my Akanari costume pretty much completed. Except the most important part, the antlers.

I have a set of antlers, but they are much too heavy to put on my head for the moment, so I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to make quick, lightweight molds of them? And any ideas for attaching them to my head would be much appreciated.

You could use strip plaster, that usually works fairly well, and it's light, so attaching it to your head would just be a matter of finding a strong enough headband.

chewed paper! and to make them hold you could use a metal wire to hold them in your hair like hmmm like that!

make sure the wires are well hidden in the hair, it shouldn't be a problem for the top of your head but for the forehead part it might be a lil hard to hide. you can always use hmm black electrical tape to tap the wire in your hair

You could also use that crayola model magic stuff, and tie a string between the two antlers. That's what they use at Ren. Fest for the kitty ears/devil horns/whatever type of ears.

Wire and sculpy. Or even some paper mache. But definitely sculpt some small round holes at the base for a string like Sand said. Ren Fair has it down.
