I mean siriously you guys may disagree with this all you like, I need a good debate right now to calm me down, but in my own opinion, Americans are the dumbest shits on earth! I mean they obniously don't know when to leave someone alone, like last time in my kei lost it thread wasn't even half of it, today I went past the breakage point, and managed "somehow" yet to maintain my anger but barely, and that's not all.
Ok it's after work, I'm in the mood to relax you know mellowout forget my problems, wodd them up, toss them away in a huge black garbage bag with the rest of the trash. So I put on some calming music. Yoko Ishida, "All of me" CD. best song on there, "Open up your mind" so I'm just about to where i'm close to having all my problems and issues wiped from my mind, "Clean slate" right, GOD FORBID, my damn mother, coming in bitching about my Cat Miya, I snap, nearly brake my freakin front door, go out and start pounding the huge ass freakin oak tree in my frontyard, repetitively and as hard as I can, bloody hands! OUCH! yes it is my fault for punching the tree , but it's better than hurting my mother, correct?
Why don't people think before messing with someone, when a person says, I need time to reflect or meditate, ("which is what I was trying to do") you don't start bitching to them about things that's the "deathwish for you" in my case!
Anyone have any comments, lets debate this fully, I need other prospectives. |

I dont think thats a case of calling americans dumb, but more a worldwide case of people just being plain ignorant, even british people (who usually take blame for most things rather than argue it) have these problems. although id suggest getting a unch bag rather than hitting a tree  |

Well isn't this in a sense a case of the pot calling the kettle black. I don't disagree in that you had your right to relax after a rough day. Though if that meditation and reflectiveness were in effect at the time you could have handled that aside from punching a tree till your hands are bloody or having thoughts of harming your mother in that case. It might be such that you could need anger management or maybe counseling in this.
Also I think it's more of a family thing that needs to be talked about than a "dumb" american thing. There are plenty of other issues that could warrent the dumb american comment, but with this it's something everyone on this planet can and does deal with. I'm sure the rest of the world will feel a bit left out.  |

And all Americans are from other countries anyway, even native Americans roots start in Russia when they crossed the barren straights. Soooo that means the rest of the world in turn are a bunch of dumb sh!ts.
Not to call ya out or anything but I believe you are the one with anger issues. Your mom was complaining about YOUR cat who probably did something wrong and wanted you to take responsibility for its actions. Instead of flying off the handle and assaulting an oak tree you should have let her know you have had a rough day and would like to discuss the actions of your cate at a later time. |

Heheh, being british and yeah ^^; It's too easy to blaim a steriotype these days, and it seems 'big dumb american' is actually getting too embedded in peoples brains. To be honest I think the whole world has developed a generation of idiots. We no longer have the survival of the fittest (and that usually is also the smartest too), we are probably becoming more dumb, or at least, not smarter as a species  but I'll stop there, because that really is a different topic.
In ANY relationship, not just lovers, you need communication. Humans need to communicate with each other, we are not psycic. Your mother probably didn't have a clue what you were really feeling, and was probably extremely shocked, confused and upset at what you did.
If you talk to her, when you feel calm, tell her your concerns and so on - she will probably be less ignorant in the future.
In most cases, ignorance comes with not knowin all the facts, you see? |

wasn't that clear. By which I mean, telling your mother properly.
My mother likes to get things sorted out right away when an issue arises, and she will confront right away. So if I have my own issue and need time alone, I need to explain properly. Telling her that I simply want to be on my own, isnt enough for her  She needs a reason why.

is not something I see as communication because it sort cuts her off. This is just my oppinion dood - I don't know your mother, I do not know how she reacts to things, I can only base this off how my own mother reacts ^_^;
I think what would be best, is to sit your mother down and have a proper discussion - so in the future when you tell her you need time to yourself, she knows exactly what to do, which is to leave you alone, until you are ready. |
