"Microsoft informed the shareholders that they will deliver approximately 1,098,200 units of Xbox 360 for the US launch on November 22, and 20% are Core Systems. Most of the shipment will be delivered to Walmart and Best Buy branches, due to the fact that they are the official sponsors for launch. Microsoft expects to sell 3 million units of Xbox 360 in the first 3 months."

Now you know where to go.

3 million in 3 months. Yeah... good luck with that.

I will not be getting one anytime soon.

I'm waiting until at least December to grab mine. I am excited for the 360, but the last console I bought on day one was back in 9/9/99, and I was a hell of a lot more excited for that one than I am the 360. I'll wait till December or January and avoid the early hype.

I'm not too crazy about the $60 price tag per game either.

If the recent polls are any indication, then I think Microsoft is in for a major dissapointment.

Meh. I'm dissapointed in how much emphasis has been placed on performance and specs and few on the actual games. The only game I've played in the last year (for a console) that has pulled me in is Atellier Iris, and that uses sprites, lol. I want to start up a game company that actually focuses on storyline/gameplay. The X-Box/PS2 wars basically proved that society only cares about performance. 10 years ago it wasn't so much the systems. Nintendo had Adventure/RPG games, and Sega had a solid hold on sports. The big rivalries lied within genres of games, i.e. Final Fantasy vs Dragon Warrior vs Zelda, and the like. Now all that's important is a better FPS rate.

Gaming is changing, as it always has. There were plenty of hardware arguments in the 16-bit era, remember Mode 7 and "Blast Processing"? While the focus of the gaming market is changing, a lot of the core values are the same. Many developers want to creat fun, innovative games, but their publishers are only looking at profit. Unfortunately this tends to stifle a lot of the creativity. As gaming moves further into the "mainstream" realm, I think this will only get worse.

Luckily we still get the occasional gem. That Katamari even got released in America is a testament to that fact. I see the gems getting fewer though.. once the innovation is gone from gaming completely, if ever, I am done.

Yeah they are saying that after the first shipment, they won't be available again until 2006 anyway.

the $60 price tag doesn't bother me too much b/c we used to pay that with carts. And I really don't think a lot of games will show that price... unless they are made by EA.

What I'm really upset about is the rip off that is the accessories for the 360.

I mean come on. If you want a wireless rechargable controller it is going to cost you anywhere from $62 to $70.

Nice Job M$.

It's $50 for the wireless controller, then $20 for the "charge and play" cord which comes with a battery pack. It only makes sense to have 2 charge and play cords since there are only 2 usb ports to plug them into. So after you get your first to controllers for $70, then it's $62 since you only get the battery which is $12.

And way to go M$ not using standard usb cables.

People may not like Sony's controller that much, but at least it's rechargable out of the box and plugs into the system with a standard usb cable.

I have a feeling that the 360 will be a little scarce the first week or two. After that, I doubt anyone will have problems finding one, unless Microsoft creates an artificial demand by holding back on units. Not a good idea on their part. It was the same with the PSP, there was an aura of scarcity, yet outside of EB and Gamestop they were plentiful at Target, Best Buy and the like.

I will be getting mine sometime in December with my reserve at Gamestop. It will be replacing my old dead Xbox.
