Two years ago, my writing skills weren't near where they are now. This is something I was supposed to write for English class. It's not a very substantial work, but with more expertly done writing it has potential. I'm going to rewrite it later.

BEAST

INTRO

In this town, you don't screw around. In this town, you play by the rules, or else. In this old town, you screw up, and its curtains for you. What exactly do I mean by all this? Let's travel into the heart of the town, to house number 1. In this town house number 1 is in the exact center. The road is a spiral and the houses are along this road, the numbers going up in value as the spiral goes farther. Also, the houses nearer the outside of the spiral are further apart, and larger. In house number 1 it is said there lives a huge Beast. People say he is huge, ugly, and smelly. And rumor also has it that if you commit any of the 7 deadly sins, the Beast will eat you. The people of this town have been terrified so much by this legend, and the bones surrounding house number 1, that they dare not sin, for in the back of their minds looms the face of the Beast, towering tall as a skyscraper, teeth like huge daggers, and eyes burning with eternal flames, fueled by the hatred of all life.

To see why these people believe in this legend in the first place, we will have to go back, back in time, to when the town was just finished being built. One little boy commited the sin of gluttony; he had too much candy. The next day he mysteriously vanished. The only clue was a pile of bones near house number 1, the bones of a child... And another time a man had lied to his wife and was met with the same fate. This happened with many people, until people stopped sinning altogether. And it was not without good reason. Today, however, one man is determined to unravel this mystery, once and for all.

BEAST

One morning in house number 37, the outermost and largest house of the lot, Brian Wesley awoke. He stood up to his full 6'8''. stretched, and prepared himself for the day that would follow. He was going to enter house number 1. Everybody said he was a fool. He just said it was an experiment. Brian was probably the least proper person in the town. This was because he had sinned as a child, and was not eaten. He was, however, punished severely by his parents for it, and warned every time he had even come close to sinning about the Beast. Brian just thought it was all a load of bull. Quickly he removed the thoughtf rom his head and shoveled down the rest of his pancakes. That sure was good... He thought. Perhaps gluttony will get that stupid "Beast" after me! Brian shoved more pancakes down his throat. Seven deadly sins my butt...

Brian's best friend Patrick(Pansy Pigheaded Patrick, as he was called by the other townspeople) did everything he could to stop Brian, but it was all in vain. Patrick had finally agreed to come along. Patrick weighed about 400 pounds, was 7'3'', and extremely cowardly. Patrick was extremely religious. Brian, however, was atheist, and thought the 7 deadly sins were a load of bull. Because of this, he went right on to house number 1, unafraid.

He walked right up and knocked on the door. Because the house was so old, the door just fell off. Patrick kept going on about how bad an idea it was. Brian just ignored him. He bravely ascended the stairs, laughing the entire time. The last thing he remembered seeing was a minotaur standing eight feet tall, holding a huge metal club. His last image was the club coming towards his face.

THE END

Nice, even if you consider it bad, its better than what I could do. I am not a story writer. Gimme a battle and thats where I shine the best, lol, if none of you could tell by now. Anyways, back to this story. I liked it a lot.
