When you can say someone is a prick... (PLEASE HELP!)

Back in 1999 I came home and found my dad, as usual, watching movies in our den. He liked both Pink Floyd and The Wizard of Oz a lot and I had heard about an odd phenomenon online that I thought he'd be interested in. So (you may have heard of this too!) I told him about the Synchronicity between Pink Floyd and The Wizard of Oz where the music and the lyrics match the actions and the tone of what's going on in the movie at the exact same instant! In fact, there are places in these "syncs" that match identically, almost as if these things were done intentionally. Anyway, he took it to heart and recorded a matched-up a copy. And, over the next 6 YEARS(!) he took it on as a quest to get it nationally recognized and he's been doing it as an underground venture ever since. It's become his opus. I've been there with him and witnessed him pour LITERALLY THOUSANDS OF HOURS into this project. He's revamped his original cover and disc art at least 15 times each, he's found ways to increase the sound and picture qualities 5 times a piece and thought-up cool and original "easter eggs" and additional content to put in each one of his syncs (13 as of now). He even found the software and CREATED a Dolby Digital Surround Sound 5.1 track to enhance the soundtrack's quality. He loves what he does so much that he even opened his own website to further the awareness of and distribute the art and mystery of these "syncs." In short, it has become a record of his life and times for the past six years.

But now the distressing and infuriating part: Recently my dad (aka The DeVille) found, online, a guy under SyncBeagle movies that was selling a version of this phenomenon that had every feature that his contained with even the same description verbatim! He was curious and suspicious so he bought a copy of this guy's version. When it came in the mail the artwork was changed and all of the "The DeVille's Workshop" (his production company's name) logos had been removed but what hadn't been changed was my dad's website address on the DVD menu! This assshole hijacked my dad's hardwork and claimed it for his own!! This is killing my dad. It would be like if someone watched you program something and just copied it and claimed it as their own work. Or if you fought to defend someone and someone else took all the credit. It's not a matter of ego it's a damn matter of honor! And I'm asking you to please help me if you can.

If you are someone who writes code, all I would ask is something that I can paste on MySpace and send as HTML through our (Code Atom's) e-mailing list telling people to call-out this prick. AND if you don't write code you can e-mail him at smilingbeagles@cox.net (Cox, huh? That's appropriate.) and ask him to give the DeVille his due (lol!).


And, as a side note, my dad is doing this in the hope that one of the big companies (he's wants either Turner or Universal) will pick this up and make it an official product. He's not looking to jilt anyone and wants to make this something that will PROFIT the companies that have produced these cds and movies.

P.S.: Update!!! It has come to our attention now that ALL of this guy's products may have been stolen from other people just like my dad! Like SteggoKitty and The Wookie just to name the two that come to mind!

I have always wanted to see this for my own eyes, and to see that your dad has put in this much effort into it, makes me happy. This travesty is what makes me mad. This guy has no right...and honestly, this is blatant plagarism. I think it is time to call em out. I'll give ya a helping hand.

Your dad could definitely bring a lawsuit against this guy. Even if he never got it copyrighted (I hope he has/will), he's got a case. Especially if the other people the guy may have stolen from band together with him.
