Eegh. At any rate...I'm glad my body's built for singing, in a way. I'm not as thin as most girls my age, and that's for a reason. Thin-thin girls, like the ones girls look like at school these days, couldn't sing in an auditorium without a mic, because, they're breathing muscles aren't developed. I'm not saying singers are fat or anything, because i'm not. I'm just a little bigger than most girls. (Which i'm alright with. I look better than they do  lol ) And even when girls make fun of my pants being about size 9, I couldn't go down a size unless I went and got my hips surgically shaved down. Anyway, that's my small singing rant for today. And I swear, if one more person calls me fat...(not that anyone on PO will )

You make a good point Katana. Being not-skinny does help singing. It's not a necessity (Cobbi's a singer and he's skinny) but it helps to have a good rock of support and strength to draw from.

*shrug* I guess I should rephrase myself, because, you're right--It's not a nessecity. More or less--solid is the word here. If you're thin and still solid...as in, you don't look frail...you look like someone could run into you, and you may stumble back, but you'd keep up...(This has nothing to do with muscle, all with balance ) Just...not...*tiny*...How many thin-thin opera singers have you seen, right? ^_^ I took opera for a while...it teaches you awesome breath support.

good luck kat...and if they dont pick u, then forget them...thats what i said when they didnt pick me for the baseball team in my school...and as for confidence, well, i know this is a little late, but here goes:
First off lemme tell u this right now...imagining people nakid never works...trust me.
Second: Take deep breaths, and relax ur body. Once its relaxed, you dont have tension to screw you up.
Third: Make sure you know what your doing. Cause u see, if you know what your doing, then you have no reason to mess up or loose. And from that, you should sound perfect.
forth: if you dont like looking at people, then just close your eyes, and...VOALA!!they dissapear 
And finally: just be yourself, and pretend that you are singing to someone like musashi or whatnot.
how do i know this, its cause im a very extroverted person, and ive done public speaking many times, and when you stand up in front of 2000 people, it pays to be prepared and calm and focused...SO GOOD LUCK!!! |

Remember this, Katana. No matter what happens you did the best you could under the circumstances. No one can ask for more. You must also trust that those doing the auditioning know what they're about and that they could see your potential through the nervousness (which any good musician can). Keep the faith and don't worry. What happens now is out of your hands, so you might as well relax.
