well, battle.net would be a good place to start looking. games you can use it for are anything made by Blizzard entertainment, which i am a STRONG supporter of, they make some of the best games around, and the best part is they're all free! with the exception of world of warcraft which isnt out yet, but looks VERY cool.
note: by free i mean you dont pay to play online a la everquest/ultima |

ya, blizzard games include the following (which im sure u know of most of them)
Warcraft I, II, and III
Starcraft, and the expansion broodwar
Diablo, and DiabloII
im sure there are others that im missing, but anywho..
