The big deal is that it's 100% real fighting. Boxing has become totally skill-less brawling while the UFC has progressed. I do enjoy the older UFC shows more when they had all styles instead of the few that they focus on today but that's the natural evolution of the sport. These are guys that can really fight. This is also why I thought it was so stupid when guys like Shamrock and Dan Severn joined the WWF/E. Either would have killed any wrestler in less time than it takes to read this letter. Still I enjoy watching WWE as it's "the male soap opera" of today.
Watch a few older UFC shows and then watch today's stuff. It takes awhile to truly appreciate it but if you are interested in real fighting then it's worth a look. |

I remember watching this one fight (one of the only ones that I've ever actually seen)...one of the fighters was a LUMBERJACK when he wasn't fighting. I can't think of anything cooler or more manly than that.

Yeah at first I thought it was somewhat barbaric. But nobody is forceing thies guys to get in the ring and beat the piss out of each other, well many times they end in submissions very quickly 
They do it because they are passionat about what they do. They have dedicated thier lifes to martial arts. It may not be pretty or classy, but the martial arts are about combat, and thies guys are good at it. |
