Anyone like a bit of the ol' Skanking?
I recently found my copy of [SPUNGE]'s Room For Abuse album and it brings back so many menories of the 3 times I saw them in '02.
Particular highlights of theirs (off the top of my head):
Kicking Pigeons
Angel With A Pint Glass
No woman No Cry (A Ska-Punk version of the Bob Marley classic, with some different lyrics)
Ego
Jump On Demand
there are others, but I cant find my other 2 CD's.
Other than Reel Big Fish, can anyone name other bands of this sort? |

salot of its from the UK  Reggae is quite big here as theres alot of Jamaicans, this ended up influencing bands like the clash which in turn influenced alot of other bands. One of the band Madness' influences is Bob Marley.
Speaking of Bob Marley, [spunge] are the only band in the world who have had permission off of his family to change the lyrics to one of his songs. No Woman No Cry. |

I think it's the Pie Tasters
There's also a band that I haven't actually heard yet myself called Murphy's Law, which is I think is like the others.
Also, No Doubt started as a ska band, and Sublime was one also. Albeit they are slightly different. The stuff that I think we're talking about usually involes brass instruments in addition to everything else. |
