I have a Gateway laptop. It has never ceased to give me problems, and it's not even a year and a half old. Yesterday, it was working fine, albeit for the minor problems that I don't really think very much of. Today I turn it on to find out that Windows won't load. When I call tech support, they inform me that my hard drive is failing. Since I'm no longer under warranty, it'll cost $145 to replace. I've never seen so many problems with a computer before! It was bad enough so that I was going to finish the (school) year with this one, and get a new one over the summer. But alas, it has forced me to go get a new computer as soon as possible, since my computer is now fried, dead, whatever you want to call it. The ironic part is that I also had a problem with the screen. There was this line across it that everyone told me was unrepairable, and not worth fixing anyway. This line was annoying, but I learned to live with it. It turns out that TODAY, when the hard drive decides to go, THE FRIGGIN LINE DECIDES TO CORRECT ITSELF!!! ARGH!!!
I will NEVER deal with Gateway again, nor will I EVER buy a laptop again, unless the portability is ABSOLUTELY neccesary...
If I seem to have a lack of posting in the coming (however long it is), blame Gateway for royally screwing me.

On the contrary, every PC I've ever owned has been a Gateway. I havn't had a serious problem with any of them, and I've always gotten excelent customer support for when I do have probs.

I'm sorry, but I have to say this: MAC. All I ever used for years were PCs. I only got a Mac the first quarter of this school year and I LOVE this thing! It's never given me any real trouble and I love the way it works. After a week or so of getting used to it it was like I'd been using one for years! Macs are great. That's my speil.

Macs? How could you not love Windows and a PC? The constant freezes, error messages, Explorer shutdowns, crashes,...I could go on for days. The fun never ends!
Seriously, I've never been comfortable with laptops tho we had Sony Vaios (sp?) at my job and they were kinda slick. |

My Gateway after 3 years (Coincidently that's when they wanted you to trade yer old comp in) Started screwing up horribly. So I formatted the HD after Norton 2003 couldn't find any problems. And like 2 days later it started screwin up again and the thing never made it on-line and the only programs installed were factory.
So I think Gateway put a hard-wired virus into me comp. so that I'd upgrade...So I bought a Dell...hehehe |

Dell works from so-so to fine, usually in my case. But next time I fetch a comp, I'll have it custom-built instead. This way I won't have thousands of shitty programs like:
SIGN UP FOR AOL NOW AND GET ONE MONTH FREE!!!!!!!!!!!
And other pieces of junk I know doesn't come with Windows... |
