As part of my job and internship, I'm supposed to do some blogging and review some new and interesting CDs. Thing is, I've been away from teh radio and only following a certain amount of music, namely anime and video game stuff, which while it might be appealing, probably isn't what they have in mind. So I need some suggestions of music that I'll like and like to review. I left pop in the dust a long time ago, and I have predilections toward good instruments/instrumentals and things like d'n'b. So, any help you can give me, because my audience has different tastes than I do, will be appreciated.

The last Cd I bought was the Fray - "How to Save a Life."

Frankly, it was a fantastic purchase, the CD kept my interest from ebginning to end and even though the Fray definatly has a similar style in their songs, they make each one unique. Its a great CD to have on yoru playlist or in yoru car, you can tune out and have a converstation or read something on the net and zone right back in at any time. The Lead singer, Joe King, has a hypnotic voice and the over all melodic influence of the Cd is more like listening to a flowing score rather than a bunch of random songs taped together (>_> St. Anger...)

while the new AFI CD is pop-y, i would hope that its variety would be enough to keep you interested as it has me. it has been labeled 'emo' by many but i don't feel it to give that vibe. it goes from something that one might hear under a rap to energetic rock to a pleading melody to screaming to whispering to soft singing to powerful vocals to well, i haven't the foggiest idea. i have liked it more with more listens. it was released June 6th.

besides, if you go get it at the hot topic at gwinnett place, then if you don't like it you can sell it to a fan that wants to get a picture of each band member.

Heh. That job's finished, but it's still an interesting thought. Thanks, itti.

I only got around to posting one thing because I was busy running around doing other things. So I'm okay.

The new Evanescence album is good. It has a much better Rock edge to it this round with a great "spooky" "haunting" aspect to it that's great timing for the upcoming holiday.
