No but seriously, I think I know how you feel. That feeling that things are going wrong and it's not necessarily your fault but because things are beyond your control? Something like that?

Well my advice is that you shouldn't give up. You said you have some kind of aspiration or dream that was crushed. I know what that feeling is like and I say you should refuse to accept that things are an impossibility. Whatever it is that is stopping you or acting as a road block, work around it. Even if it takes a long time, it'll be worth whatever you put your mind to. When you want something so badly, you should refuse to let anything stop you from reaching your dream.

Now I don't know the whole situation so I may have missed the point completely but either way don't let circumstances rule your life. Bad things happen sometimes, sometimes we can't control it. The only thing you can do is be strong, take it all in stride and show everyone that you're still the cool person that you are.

Well about 70% of it is school related, I am getting by. Just have a whole lot of thinking to do about the rest of my life really fast, since my plans have not been as well planned as I'd hoped

Planning life never goes the way you want it to. I know college was something i had planned to be a wonderful experience that involved messing around, making new friends, and all that stuff. It turned out becoming a turbulant time where i've spent most of it with a personal family issue that still haunts me today.

I originally wanted to go to culinary school: I changed my mind a week before the application was due, and went to a liberal arts school instead.

Life is a fsat thing, and you can never plan for it...it's like planning which way the wind is gonna blow. You just gotta do what you've gotta do.

Making some assumptions here, I would assume that something has come up to where you can't persue your current major...thus leading to the occupation and life that you've wanted to lead. I ran into this sort of thing so...

My advise is that if you have a goal find some way to meet it. If the direct route doesn't work, look into a way around to get to that goal. Or look into an alternate that puts you close to where you originally wanted to go.
Here's an example: If you can't get into the military but really wanted to serve, go into a related field so you can help the people who are and make their lives/jobs better.

Another thing to do is to sit back and re-evaluate where you want to go and who you want to be in life, then go with it.

I started college as a Physics major...spent my first 2 years on that path with ppl asking me "What are you going to do with it?", "What kind of job can you get?"...etc (and getting bad advisement) I had to take a step back. I graduated with a degree in Tech Writing where I write proposals for a living instead of sitting in a lab.

Planning is preparation for what happens. As I've found out so far, there are very few important things that go strictly according to plan. We know, though, that you won't be crushed by things going a little odd, and that you'll adapt and get through it. And when it's all done, you'll look at it and say "Yeah. That's not a bad result after all."

Life is cruel. It sucks and it's unfair. Lately, it seems like every day for me is "one of those days", and unfortunately there's nothing that I can do about it but accept it and try to move on the best I can.
