I'm looking for advice on how my avatar should look but I need some help....particularly with what you can and cannot have. For instance, logos.
I like Evangelion, Starbucks, and work for Cingular. Not saying that I want to use all of these but, is there a problem with displaying a particular logo on a character?
I'm also looking for some general advice too. I've never done this before so I'm going bonkers trying to make a final decision.

What sort of thing are you thinking of? I have no idea on the logo front, I was worried about having a dual-lightsaber but that was allowed  |

Well,
The logo thing is a big part in what direction this goes...although I did have the idea of a charm bracelet where these could be depicted in more sybolic ways like a coffee mug, a jack, and just the vertical word

But the rest is still tenative...The 2 big elements I'm looking at are a Phoenix and Cat ...and an Asian spin on it all...
Like wearing an Asian dress w/ a Phoenix design and cat ears and tail...
I was also entertaining the idea of flaming wings but... |

I've spent a lot of time looking at how everyone else looks and using that as a guide...even doing a little MS Paint dabbling and chopping bits and pieces off POs to get a rough idea of how things look together.
I'm just being really impatient w/ myself...and want to be a full-fledged member. |

Just as a heads up, we can't use any copyrighted material. So we could loosely base it off of those things but we wouldn't be able to use the actual logos or even NERV (since it's most definitely a Evangelion thing).

That's what I needed to know...coffee mug will work, a "headless" orange jack is close enough (and not look funky w/ a head floating out in space), maybe just the Maple leaf looking thing...or something more obscure...I can try to check to see if using just the word "NERV" is a copyright thing. |

It just inspires me to figure out a good alternative...The Starbucks and Cingular thing are pretty easy to do a non-logo thing with...I mean "Jack" can still be an orange jack if need be and a coffee mug does it pretty well for the other...maybe w/ a star on it. I suppose it would be a bad pun if it had a big star on the coffee mug w/ a Dollar sign in the middle of the star...hehe
I had a good idea for how I love Snoopy and the Peanuts gang...have the charm be a peanut lol.
