So, yes. I got fired from my posh job at the movie theatre. Its a long story, interesting and amusing, but long, and I just don't feel like typing it up at the moment.
But for future reference I must remember not to incite dissent among fellow workers, cause apparently I do that or something  |

I know that one a little too well, actually. My mother and I were threatened with being fired from a teaching job when we advised some of our colleagues of the fact that the school's policies were not in line with federal labor law, and that the corporate attorney had never heard of many of the things our Director of Education claimed she'd already cleared with him. |

I've been nearly fired for that before. I had a boss who said that he was going to fire me on the grounds of inciting dissent among the other employees if I didn't straighten up or something like that. I dunno, I just gave him the finger and quit. 'Cause I'm a rebel! |

I see. So the workplace is less about innovation, good practice, and enjoying your work and more about cog-like conformity, never saying anything, and just hoping that the paycheck will be enough after everyone above you in the chain takes their cut? |
