I'm having issues with coloring right now. There has to be an easier method than I am using (gaussian blur and gradients). = / Any suggestions?

I can point you to a few tutes that might help, which coloring program are you using? PSP, Painter, PS 6.0 7.0 CS?

DeviantArt - The Nass Good tute for comic style coloring, done with video.
Farlow Studios More inking tutes than coloring, although the few that are there you can apply to a majority of bodies.
