Naruto Manga

Okay, so I would guess a good number of you are--at beast--accepting of Naruto. And though I shunned it at first, I have decided it seems fit to become the next big Anime/Manga in America. I found the series entertaining at it's beginning, but now--Post Time Skip--I find myself more drawn in as, not unlike Harry Potter--these lads and lasses find themselves in more dark and dangerous situations.

Any positive input regarding Naruto?

I have seen a couple episodes, and like most Anime that airs here it is dubbed, and most dubbed anime is appauling. Naruto is not much different, but I do like the style, and the story seems interesting. However I feel that the anime has gotten into the DBZ mentality to where it takes 15 episodes to finish a battle. The series is enormous, or so I've been lead to believe and usually if the manga is significanly larger than the anime So I was never willing to commit myself to reading something with that much content. And at ten bucks a manga, that can get pretty expensive, especially considering I know the series is at least 100 episodes long.

Disclaimer: I dont judge anime based on its Dub, because dubs are generally aweful. If I ever got the chance to watch a season of naruto subbed I would likely jump at it. I just have a problem with horrible voice acting.

Ahhh but the trick here is that you'll appreciate the manga more for now. The fact that more intense life and death situations have presented themselves makes it all the more interesting.

That and the fact that more and more of the characters i'm getting interested in die, go evil, or just end up becoming less than what they were. With the exception of Naruto though. Anyone whose seen his new fox form can attest that this story will not end too happy for him in some way.

Im a Narutard (Thanks Scrum <3) and I can say that the series, pre time skip, was good until the last saga (Sasuke saga). After that was done, the whole 100+ fillers they showed were horrible.

Post Time skip they are suffering from the DBZ problem. 5 episode to throw one punch. I can say that it has gotten darker and I love it, but I hate episodes being so short in action.

I do agree with Girkon. When I saw the 1st episode of Shippuuden they showed that part where they find Sasuke and had a small chat. I searched around and found a synopsis of the series and read part of it and that beginning part is not the end of the series, but after reading the synopsis I am 100% sure that the end of the series will be a tragic one.
