So I finally went! Annnnd here's what I learned, and here are some pics!
+ Arrested Development still comes on TV. On REGULAR cable! Even though it's just re-runs. But still, that's pretty sweet, if you ask me.
+ Turning on the TV and randomly finding Pee Wee's Big Adventure in french is awesome. Plus, it's probably JUST as funny if not funnier in french as it is in english. Though for some reason when he's singing with the hobo on the train, they leave it in English. lol
+ Going to a restaurant that has the radio on only to hear them playing YOUR FRENCH ROCK OPERA MUSIC YOU HAVE ON YOUR MP3 PLAYER BECAUSE YOU'RE KIND OF A N00B is FANFREAKINGTASTIC. I was so shocked, in a pleasant sort of way.
+ Even though I've been taking french for... 7 years? I suck. Seriously, hardcore. Like, you think you might be decent? YEAH RIGHT. When people are speaking it a mile a minute all around you, you're lost.
+ Everything is written in 2 languages. Well, almost everything. Like all the cereal boxes and stuff. But the street signs are just in french. Like the stop signs.
+ -14ºC is miserable. Especially with the humidity at nearly 100%. .. at night. WHEN IT'S WINDY. And you have to walk ... because the bus is not coming for 20 minutes. :( BUT then it's fun because you end up in random grocery stores to try to warm up because you're only half way to where you're going. And you go look at all the food.
+ Cidre is good. delicious, even. (hard apple cider!) Especially in good company.
+ Poutine afterwards makes it even MORE enjoyable.
+ Every single house I went in was BEAUTIFUL. They are a lot smaller, but everything inside is so nice! really nice floors and doors and fixtures and whatnot.
+ Going shopping is beautiful. Especially on St. Catherine street, with all the churches around and mountains off to the sides.
+ Milk comes in a bag. ... "I must buy a bag of milk at the store today!" .. that sounds so weird!!
+ Yeah, it's a great place. EVERYONE SHOULD VISIT.
Now for the pics.. :)
St. Catherine Street.. well, kind of off to the side.
HOT TUB! hurray for like, -2ºC.
Getting ready to go tromping in the snow. I had to borrow B's boots. (my feet aren't THAT big. :P)
THE BEAUTIFUL WOODS!
Pretty moon through the trees....
The French Toast from later that night (Which i threw up a few hours later!! eew.. :P) PS: this was New Years Eve
Ridin' the METRO! Lookin' like n00bs.
Menu! of.. different kinds of.. POUTINE! YUM!
Poutine ..... crap i forget the name. :( CHICKEN AND PEAS. Absolutely delicious.
This was sort of hilarious, and somewhat poetic, i think. Maybe. Outside La Banquise (where we got the Poutine!)
OKAY ;D It was a glorious trip. |

You took some fabulous pics...you should get them enlarged and have them framed...they look professional!
The street, the woods, and that moon just turned out perfect!
I wanna go! |

Haha...
Sorry Doot... sadly, I did not think it would transport well. BUT NEXT TIME you should just go there and we can all have a party cause i wanna go again. And we'll all have some POUTINE!
Shuri - what? hot chicken sandwich? i don't remember it being called that... it was just some french name. I DUNNO -shrug- . PS: Why didn't I see you up there? :p
Fawkes Fyre - Actually, I have to admit that B took the picture of the road (with the castle-y looking in it), as well as the picture of the moon between the trees. HOWEVER, I took the picture of the woods themselves hurray! Thanks though!! |

Yay Montreal! Looks like you had a lovely time.
Poutine owns my soul. I haven't had it in so long...I suppose I'll have to pop up to Canada sometime soon.
And milk-in-a-bag is awesome. |

Milk-in-a-bag FTW
O Suna-chan, you'd LOVE the hot tub now!
1. There's snow all around it ( meaning we can jump in it and then get back in the hot tub)
2. It's FREAKIN COLD now so the steam will freeze in our hair and it'll be ... cool ... well ... at least I think it's cool ... shuddup! xD |
