An Epic Begins.

So here we are. 2007.

No flying cars, no personal jet packs, no pod homes in the sky, no fulfillment of Nostradamus’ end of the world predictions. We’re all alive and kicking and looking forward.

As humans we have the inherent curiosity to always strive for the better and best. We all have that itch to set out for the incredible journey and I know that everyone who has been working on bringing Pocket Otaku to you over the past four years feels it.

As you all have already been “hipped to the chase”, we’ve closed down the full memberships indefinitely. Does this mean we’re locking our shutters and selling stock? Oh no, it’s quite the contrary.

It means we’ve finally put our foot down on the progress of Pocket Otaku as it has been for years before. It just so happens that under our foot is the gas peddle to this crazy little automobile we’ve all come to know and love. We’re making good on our promises to bring you all some interactivity other than a forum. We’re launching a full scale assault schedule to bring you comics on a far steadier basis than before. We’re focusing on the meat and potatoes of this little world of ours and showing you all the places in Miniopia you’ve only seen in your mind’s eye. Just be mindful of the dust, scaffolds and power cords, we’re still adjusting our focus from what we’ve been accustomed for so long but we’ll have all new goodies dropping throughout the year.

It’s been a grueling task to gather all of the staffs hopes and wishes and keeping all of our members’ feedback and constructive criticism at the top of that list, but we’ve mustered through it. We have organized our rag tag crew of misfits and friends and have delegated different projects to departments we never knew would exist if you had asked us about them 3 years ago. We have a common goal through multiple projects and it will all be to the benefit to everyone who comes here.

A lot of trial and error has gone into these decisions to focus on cultivating and nourishing this world we have and the people in it. We’re human after all. However, we’re humans with that itch and can’t wait to march forth on this new adventure into Miniopia with all of our friends along for the ride.

I like this comic a lot. Mainly b/c there have been people that said that if you were to put me in real life onto a D&D character sheet, I would have a Chrisma of at least 18

I think it was Legend and someone else that said it. I can't remember who the someone else was though. Maybe they will see this and post, or maybe Legend remembers.

Anyway... good stuff. Can't wait to see this one play out.
I also like how the DM guide just says "DOOM" all over the place. That sounds like Gaaz as a DM alright.

Yes, major thanks to Scrum for hammering our the first draft of the comic. She is mucho inspiration and I'm pretty sure you haven't seen the last of her talents! ^_^
