Texting is nearly completely useless.

I'd rather talk directly to someone than get their text if it's someting of an important nature.

I don't mind receiving whacky texts here and there - it's just I have a crappy phone and it takes FOREVER for me to get them and then respond (Sprint sucks). So I'm more likely to just pick up the phone and call.

People driving and texting should be smacked. I'm with Sciler. NOTHING is that important that you'd have to text while driving. Just call the person texting you.

I text when, like john, I don't want to interrupt someone/ get them in trouble or with some of my friends I just don't want to get involved in a long, and often drawn out conversation.

What is so important it has to be texted while driving? What can't wait 20 mins - 1 hr or whatever to be texted?

Ive never been much of a fan of texting, so I guess maybe I just gont get the craze

I have a really bad memory. Probably because of my experimental past but: se la vie. So to compensate I do things as soon as I think of them. Text them, write them down, leave them on my voice mail for myself but when I have to delegate texting is a good way of doing it AND keeping a record of it getting texted. So, in short, I am one of the guilty ones.

p.s.: Cingular rocks. Were talking seconds, baby!

Text-messaging is probably even more of a distraction than talking on the phone while driving - it draws eyes and hands off the road. Banning it won't be more than a symbolic gesture, but people really should be using their heads in figuring out when they could safely engage in something like that. (red lights, maybe.)

I personally think that it should be against the law to have anything in your hand whilst driving ie cigarette, drink, food, map, phone etc-just pull over for 5 mins as it wont kill you but driving whilst eating your lunch may well kill you

The police officers here are rubbish anyways-ive lost count of the times that ive seen a police officer blatantly ignoring someone who is driving/talking on mobiles, riding their bikes through town centre and many other things

If they cant be bothered to keep these laws then i cant really see them attempting to enforce the no texting law

*ouch Doot, now I'll have a headache the rest of the day

Switch to Cingular...I mean the "New" AT&T

The ppl I work with are better to deal with in text. Its bad to say it, but I just don't want to talk to them lol.

But at least I am being kinda good right now and just texting in a meeting hehe. At least I'm not driving
