This is an article about how popular the older, classic video games have continued to be in the age of 360, PS3, Wii, and continually improving technology.
It's kinda nice to know that the phrase, "They just don't make 'em like they used to" really can apply here. And it's proof that gamers are still very concerned with how fun a game is, as opposed to how flashy it is.

Anyway, I figured you all might appreciate this. Enjoy! |

One of the main reasons is that the majority of games that are made now, are massive and really long. Classic stuff is great for when you just want to have fun without playing the same game for hours. |

I agree with Gryph - old games are pick-up and play sort of things. Even some of the RPGs (although not Dragon Quest 1) can be finished, beginning-to-end, in the span of a day or two. That's definitely not the case with newer material, which sometimes takes a day of training (or, in the case of Kingdom Hearts II, six) before even letting you into the game.
And a lot of classic games are based on a simple premise - shoot everything that moves, run from start to finish, be a bad enough dude to rescue the President from ninjas. Simple stuff. |

Of course. I couldn't forget stacking burgers. Or that one game with all the really stupid green-haired dudes. |
