I got all 4 of my teeth out today and man was it interesting. I woke up about half way through to them getting the last 2 out. Went home, slept about an hour and am up and running....except for the excrutiatiing pain in my jaw. The bleeding hasn't stopped and I haven't eaten in almost 24 hour, mostly because you can't eat 12 hour before having your teeth out. So here I sit, waiting for the pain killers to kick in and wondering when I'll be able to take out this friggin gauze. |

the first day or 2 were the worst for me. What made it tolerable, was that the meds made me sleepy, so I slept...a lot lol. But the gauze and bloody taste in your mouth for the first couple days are the worst. After that it wasnt so bad. Just constantly rinse your mouth before reinserting the gauze and you should be fine. |

But see, they tell you not to rinse your mouth the first day because you might loosen a clot, which I did. I think that is why it took so long to stop bleeding. |

yeah but if you eat or drink anything other than water, you should rinse, otherwise infection could set in. Rinse lightly I guess. lol |

Are we talkin about wisdom teeth? Mine didn't hurt at all, they gave me some crappy pain killers that I didn't even bother with. |

Reaper, you were lucky beyond anything natural.
I was laid up for two days and heavily, *heavily* drugged just to endure it.
After that my family hated me beacuse i wasn'ty alowed to anything anything solid or warm.
Lack of solid food aparently makes for an *incredably* mean and irritable Zzyxx. |

wow.. i'm with reaper, i felt absolutely no pain!
my problem was that i just didn't stop bleeding and i passed out and threw up blood yay! then they had to re-stitch my wounds without any sort of painkiller set in because they wanted to do it quickly.  |

Nah, my jaw has stayed pretty swollen and sore. The painkillers are great though. The pain comes and goes. Hopefully I will be able to return to solid foods by Friday when I go back to work. Also, my teeth were HUGE. There are holes the size of my thumbs in the back of my mouth. They were all the way up to the cheeks so they had to kind of sow my cheeks into the holes, not cool. Anyway, happy hump day.
