Or this--it's an excerpt from the interview with the guy who is trying to re-make BR for an American audience:
Nevermind--apparently the website only lets you access articles once before they make you pay for it >.< anyway, the article basically said that in the official remake, the students will be high-school students, the setting will be America, and they are going to base it more off of the book than the Japanese film (although names will probably be changed to be American, of course).
Anyway, the director made the comment "We could make them a bunch of prisoners from jail taken to an island, but that would be pointless," and two years later you have The Condemned XD |

Last I heard, they are having trouble finding people that will fund the movie because of the premise. It doesn't help that there haven't been any translation companies with the cahoongas to release the Japanese film in the states. |

That's not too surprising. I bet they could do it if they marketed it as a horror movie, but then they'd have to throw in the supernatural or something probably, and that'd ruin it. |

Didn't they release a version of BR in the states with like a hip-hop soundtrack and dubbing my rappers like Snoop Dogg?
Or was that something else entirely? I forget. Shino takes all my old man memory pills then he forgets to take them. |

That was Volcano High and QUITE hilarious to watch. 
And I must point out that The Most Dangerous Game was penned in the 20's. |
