So, the Stupid Bitch in the Cubicle Next to Me struck again today.
I am startled easy. It's a byproduct of my anxiety problem. Teamleads will walk up to the entrance to my cubicle all teh time and I nearly jump out of my skin when they say something, cuz I turn around and they're right THERE.
Today, I'm on the phone wiht a customer, and I hear "collections, collections, collections" being almost chanted behind me. I turned around to see what the person across the aisle must be doing sinc eI didn't quite recognize the voice, and I turned my head, and the stupid woman's face is RIGHT THERE. Not back at the entrance to my cubicle. No, she was standing right behind my chair. It was all I could do not to shriek into the phone. And when I motioned that I was on a call, she still kept chanting. So I went to the website that she also has access to and angrily pointed to the extension for collections, and she left my cubicle.
It's not the first time she's waltzed into my cubicle, but she has the same lists of phoen numbers that I do, and had NO reason to be there when I was on teh phone, especially not while chanting. I could not hear my customer, because on top of the anxiety issue, I am pretty ADD too. So there were two voices, and I automatically focused on the one that was RIGHT THERE.
I told my team lead about it and he said he would've been upset too. He only asked what was up because I put a sign in my cubicle that you see right as you start to walk in that says "Please warn me when you come up behind me" and he was being a butthead about it and saying "I am approaching the desk" when I was looking right at him.
HE's great. I'm glad I'm on his team when we finally get split off into our final seating arrangement. And I won't be anywhere near HER. |

You should've slapped her, and then apologized and called it an instinct reaction that when people surprise you by invading your personal space reacts automatically. xD Or, y'know, threatened to slap her with a suit for harrassment after calmly asking your client to give you a moment. You would've at least scared her out of doing it again, whether or not you could've actually filed such a suit. |

That's a problem. Not just the invasion of personal space, but then not finding someone else or doing it herself when you were obviously busy. If this repeats, I wonder whether she'll end up flat on her back after having been kicked out of your space. |

If enough complain about her, she might get booted out of the job. It doesn't sound like she's cut out for this line of work anyhow.
I mean, she can't figure out how to use her own resources, goes running around like an idiot asking you and anyone else who have the same resources she does...makes me also wonder if she had a customer waiting on the line while she found out. And to top it all off, she seems to really lack that level of professionalism that you need to talk to a customer...give her time and she may go ahead and just get herself fired.
Was she even supposed to be away from her desk? |

It's ok for us to be away from our desk. If we're doing somethign lke running to the bathroom, hunting down someone to give them a message, or looking for a team lead/supervisor. She had a customer on the line, in her usual mute instead of hold way, and also was not dressed appropriately for work. And today, when she came in, one of the teamleads approached her about her tone when she talks to customers. Because one of them called back in to speak with a supervisor to complain. Which not only upsets the customer and the supervisor, but it drops our service levels because it is an extra call into the center that could've been avoided.
(and by not dressed appropriately, she had part of her tummy hanging out of the bottom of her shirt... it was really gross, and this is coming from someone who is not exactly small...)
She treats her husband like he's like 3, and her customers too. I'm anxiously awaiting for seats to be reassigned. The girl in the cubicle diagonal from this woman thinks that the male team lead and I have some sort of weird affair going on because he helps me with my orders and stuff without me having to almost beg. She says as she IMs back and forth with the guy who does our service reports. She and I are both engaged, and the two guys are both married with kids. IT's funny. She doesn't like our team lead, and has insisted that I will be sitting next to her so she can ask me eighty million questions a day. Whih I have no problem with, because she waits until I'm off a call, and doesn't invade my space. She stays on her side of the wall.
I bribe her with jelly beans. And I'm the one who reminds her when she has a meeting or training to go to, because she forgets.
We have a girls only meeting tomorrow morning. Goodness knows what THAT will be about... |

Keep us tuned in, I strangely love hearing about this...but I guess its because I am so isolated in the job that I have, I miss the interaction.
I'm in the last cube at the end of a hall with just a conference room behind me. My co-worker next to me never comes in anymore and just works from home 95% of the time. If it wasn't for the Production Coordinator, who's become my best friend, I'd go nuts from being surrounded by Electrical Engineers. SO many ppl there just think I'm part of that team...
I hate to admit that I actually miss being in a cluster of cubes...it was nice to have ppl know you by name, whether you're in their dept or not. |
