The only reason I really hate stories like these is that they only contribute to the Pit Bull's bad rep. They are fantastic dogs. People just have a tendency to use them as fighting dogs because they're big and have energy.
I'm surprised the JRT did anything other than bark at it, myself. Stupid rat dogs are psychotic most of the time, seems like these guys got lucky with a good one. xD |

I don't blame the dogs at all, actually. I blame the owners who clearly don't know how to raise them, or mistreat them. I've actually heard many times before that pit bulls are actually very good with children. |

Pits are kind of dicotumous in nature. They can be fantastics dogs, but if ya get a mean one, he/she is just plain mean. Females tend to be more controlled than males but also fight harder if they are provoked, especially about there pups. But if you are lucky enough to get a good one, great dogs.
I still stand to say the best dogs I ever had were Pit/Black Lab mix. Smart, big, strong, loyal and above all else completely friendly. Great Dogs.

a Pit/Lab sounds like a very pleasant dog indeed.
I also agree with the word "destroyed" being rather strange...kind of liek when a doctor refers to a passed away patient as "expired"

We're used to euphemism, Ming, plus, for me, the connotation of "destroyed" is something more like "had dynamite placed underneath and then exploded the dynamite", which would be inhumane. |
