More and more about Square Enix's impending Final Fantasy party -- May 12 and 13, also known as next week -- is leaking through the cracks, as the company has launched a teaser website for an upcoming PSP release entitled Final Fantasy: Dissidia.
All we have on the game is that Tetsuya Nomura of Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy Versus XIII is handling character designs, it's on PSP and we should know more about it next week. Until then, speculate away, folks. |

Final Fantasy: Dissidia was probably the strangest of the numerous new game announcements to come out of the recent Square Enix Party 2007. Final Fantasy's gender-neutral RPG heroes mixing it up in a fighting game on the PSP?
Luckily for those aching for more info and, better yet, images, the debut trailer discussed in 1UP's early preview of the game is now available on GameVideos.
As mentioned by Shane in the preview, the trailer features some intense full-3D battles between Kain and Cecil (Final Fantasy IV), and Zidane and Kuja (Final Fantasy IX) as well as a so-brief-it-stings appearance by the villain that makes all the fangirls swoon, Sephiroth (Final Fantasy VII). The tiny vid also sports some impressive Kingdom Hearts-esque graphics.
It's hard to hold back the girlish screams when two of your favorite RPG antagonists clash swords in real-time, but how does the game actually play? 1UP hopes to find out (and tell you!) very soon, so keep your eyes stuck here. |

Hrm. Sounds like a logical extension, considering how well Kingdom hearts did as an action-oriented RPG. Now they know how to make arena-type fighters for the hardware. |
