Hello hello everyone~
Simply put:
What are your top five games? And why? [optional] And possibly a favorite part of them too! No spoilers pleeeease. It makes the kids cry. T_T Oh.. No bashing. Creative criticing is ok. Bashing also makes the kids cry D:
1. Final Fantasy 7 - PSX - 8D Sorry. I've loved it since I was in third grade. D: Man it's old now. I just love the whole game.
2. Phoenix Wright Series - GBA/DS - It's just a good game and it makes you think. I love the witty plots, yet suspensful moments. I swear, sometimes it really shocked me! Besides, who gets tired of screaming "Objection!" "Take that!" or "Hold it!" Noooot me!
3. The Silent Hill Series - PSX/PS2 - I hate scary movies, but I love scary games. I am so obsessed with them all. They are just so good. I'm happy to hear there is a new SH game coming out for PSP, but sadly, I do not have a PSP. Silent Hill 2 is preferably my all-time favorite.
4. Cooking Mama - DS - I love cooking, and I love this game. I'm called "The Cooking Mama" at work. Ahaa..
5. Toe Jam & Earl - Sega Genisis - I loved it on the good ol' Sega. It's a family thing ;D
Runner-Ups
-Atelier Iris 1 - PS2 - The second one was alright, but man-o-man, I put, easliy over 70 hours on that game. It was very good.
-Dead or Alive: XTREME - XBox - Ahahaha. Don't ask 8D I put over 80 hours on that game. And man, I love to.. erm.. collect all those bathing suits 8D
-AR Tonelico - PS2 - I haven't gotten to play that much, so it stays a runner up only because I promised a friend to only play it with him, but I'm tempted to play it sometime. |

Oooh, I like this topic...
1. Legend of Zelda (NES): this is the game that solidified my love of videogames
2. Soul Calibur (Dreamcast): the first 3D fighter I ever truely loved... and only series that stands remains to keep me interested
3. Lego Star Wars 2: pure and simple fun, 'nuff said
4: Street Fighter 2 (SNES): the original, before hyper and turbo; before the series got overly complicated... though I do like some of the Alpha stuff
5: Bionic Commando (NES)/ Lost Planet (X360): if you've ever played Bionic Commando and Lost Planet, you might understand why they share a spot... two really great games with some simular mechanics |

Game Series = one Game?
Top 5 is hard...It's like asking top 5 movies.
I can't pick 5...I can barely pick 20...I've played too many games in my life.
But the 40K games did get me to start reading. And een though Baldurs Gate frustrated the hell out of me it helped me get into the Forgotten Realms books. |

Top five!!!!!
1: Final Fantasy VII: First game i went out and beat myself...first RPG i ever got into.
2: Chrono Trigger: the First RPG i ever played. twas fun indeed, and the art was done by Akira Toryama.
3: Devil May Cry: I love the character of Dante, and I love the style of gameplay. First game of its type that i could stomach playing because the main character was just so badass. And then i fell in love with it.
4: Gunstar Heroes: A quality game that I've loved throughout my whole life. Its one of the best Sega games of its time, and its just amazing
5: Guitar Hero: What can i say? I AM a guitar Hero...well...at least with a plastic guitar.

1) Gunstar Heroes - Sega Genesis: This is the game I always keep coming back to, year after year after year. Single-player is a blast, two-player is frantic, the gameplay and controls are extremely tight and the bosses and level design is among the most creative I have ever seen. It's also one of the few run-and-gun games where you can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Unlike Contra, which instantly punishes mistakes with death, Gunstar relies on a single life filled with hit points. Plug, the way combat is designed makes it so the enemies hurt you only if they take a swing at you, thus allowing you to either run right past 'em or even melee them down. Truly a masterpiece of gaming.
2) Rez - Sega Dreamcast/PS2: If only this game could've been longer. It introduced a very intuitive gameplay, creative visuals and a mix of sounds, music and views that defied all description. Playing that game was like having a good dream.
3) Deus Ex - PC: There's a phrase associated with this game: "Everytime you mention it, somebody will reinstall it." And it's true. So many ways to go about your adventure, and the story is so compelling, this game is a hard one to put down. I especially had some fun with putting a sniperscope on my 9mm pistol.
4) Colin McRae Rally 2005 - PC: A game that excels in its execution. The visuals are gorgeous even for 2007, the cars are all driveable and have their differences at the same time (comparing against several racing games that have several cool-looking cars with zero power or control) and the challenges are kept short and sweet, varied and nicely laid out. The game itself is done simple and to the point, without any self-pretention whatsoever. Arguably one of the best racing games of the decade.
5) Serious Sam - PC: Bargain title as it may be, the game answers the primal instinct in gamers. It's just plain fun. Whether you want to have a casual match or go through a gritting, ultra-hard co-op level with near-endless hordes of enemies, the game does the job. No questions asked, no strategy, no frustration. Just press the trigger and don't let go 'till the end of the level. |

1. Mega Man II - What can I say about this game that can't be said by playing it?
2. Disgaea - Only consol game besides WoW I've ever put 100+ hours into
3. Final Fantasy IV - My all-time favorite RPG, you don't even wanna know how many times I rented it trying to beat it and never succeeded till I bought it.
4. Legend of Zelda III - Everything the first LoZ did right but much much more.
5. Burnout 3 - I love this game, probibly the most fun I've ever had in an arcade style racer.
:edit:
Honerable mentions would be Bionic Commando, Need For Speed: Hot Persute II, and Civ I or II |

5: Mech Warrior 4 (and its expansions: the mechpacks, black knight, and mercs) : Realy fun mech game, especialy mercs, fighting for cold hard cash just seems like such a good idea...
4: Starseige: The first mech(HERC) game I owned (played mech warrior 3 religiously at a freinds house) VERY custamizable mechs, if not the models themselves, you could tailor them to your playstyle with different engines, sheildgens, ECM, Armor, and of course weapons. You could also paint them very easily by making a bitmap and putting it in the skins folder
3: Armored Core (cant pick one):im sensing a trend here.... They all have their pros and cons but I love them
2: Gears of War: what can i say? its lots of fun, and you get a ton of OH SHIT!! moments when someone steps out from behind a car with a boomshot/shotgun/chainsaw reved/insert weap thats gonna pwn you here
1: Halo 2: Im sorry, Im a fanboy, I love the game
runner ups:
I have to give an honorable mention to Homeworld 2, realy preaty and realy fun, who doesnt love building fleets of interstellar cruisers and being able to come at your enemy from any of 6 directions. in fact, I think im going to reinstall it now... Only bad part is the campaign is rather short and easy, just build a shit ton of Ion ships and your set.
also to Starcraft, Played it for hours and hours and hours and... etc |

In no particular order:
Metal Gear Solid Truly a great great game, let down by its sequels slightly (although they're still pretty damn good) theres so many moments in such a short game that could bring back so many memories its unreal!
Crazy Taxi I got so good at this that if I had video evidence, I'd be ranked 9th on the Dreamcast version in the world on Twin Galaxies.
Gitaroo Man So hard, yet so god damn fun!
Phantasy Star Online the fact that since the Dreamcast versions original release I've played it on XBox, Gamecube, and PC speaks volumes, then warrant in that I actually tried to give Episode III a go, had a short burst on Blue Burst and played Universe for a month.. yeah quite.
Final Fantasy IX everyone cites VII as their favourite, but I prefered the traditional airships and castles setting of IX to the cyberpunk setting of the first two PS1 titles. |
